THE OBITUARY OF

Saunders Thomson

Saunders Thomson, 42 years, 11 months, died at his home from the effects of an overdose of opiate on a weak heart. According to statements of physicians, Mr. Thomson has been troubled with insomnia for some time and has been in the habit of inhaling a little choloroform at the time of retiring.

Yesterday afternoon he lay down for a nap, with the bottle of opiate in his hand. When the fumes had induced slumber, the bottle remained by him and the sleeper grew more and more anaethetized until death came. It is stated that Mr. Thomson was affected with organic heart trouble.

Mr. Thomson has been engaged as a traveling salesman for a grocery house. Until a few weeks ago he was a member of the Thomson-Frasier Grocery Company of this city. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Thomson survive him.
