Ellen V. Toman, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Ellen was born February 27, 1925, in Spalding, Nebraska, to the late Gilbert H. and Floy L. (Hinze) Hawley. She graduated from Albion, Nebraska High school in 1953. Ellen married Leo toman on April 1, 1966 in Omaha. She managed Goose Haven for 15 years and retired from Woodmen of the World as a secretary in 1997, after 15 years of service. Ellen was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latterday Saints. She was preceded in death by one sister and 6 brothers.

Ellen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Leo; daughters, Cheryl Brown, and Jeri Toman all of Council Bluffs; son, Dennis of Crescent; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Loo Hartman and husband Larry of Oregon, Patrice Collins in Missouri; brother, Gail Hawley of Council Bluffs; many nieces and nephews.
