Conrad Torneten, a pioneer resident of Hardin Township, died about 10 o'clock yesterday morning upon the same farm where he had made his home for the past forty three years. He was a native of Germany, being born at An Litte Det Molt, May 28, 1844, and was 71 years, 7 months, 7 days of age. Although born across the ocean, he came to Council Bluffs in 1866, when only 22 years of age, and in 1872 moved to the farm in Hardin Township.

His wife died August 4, 1912. He is survived by two sons and three stepsons, all bearing his own name, as he was married to his brothers widow. The sons are: Theodore and William Torneten, both of Hardin Township, and the stepsons are: Fred Torneten of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Conrad and Edward, both of Hardin Township.
