THE OBITUARY OFLucretia K. Townsend |
Died in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sunday, March 13, 1881 at 10 a.m. of consumption, Mrs. LUCRETIA K., wife of A.E. TOWNSEND, foreman of The Nonpareil pressrooms. Aged 25 years.
The death of Mrs. Townsend is one of unusual sadness as she had become a happy bride less than six months ago. Her maiden name was Lucretia Kelley, and she was a resident of Marlboro, Mass., where she was united in the bonds of matrimony to A.E. Townsend of his city on Thanksgiving Day, last year.
She was an accomplished, Christian lady, and her quiet unassuming manners won for her a warm place in the hearts of all who enjoyed her acquaintance. Although not unexpected, the announcement of her death will be received with the deepest sorrow by her many friends and acquaintances in Massachusetts and in her new western home.
The fond husband and aged father, as well as her three brothers, will receive the heartfelt sympathy of all in his hour of deep affliction.
The funeral services will take place from the residence of Frank Levin on First (Madison) Street this (Tuesday) morning at 10 o'clock. Friends are invited to attend without further notice.
