Mrs. MARY ELLEN UMSTAT, 24, 1637 Avenue A, died at a local hospital Monday afternoon. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Umstat; an infant son, one stepson, James Umstat, at home; one stepdaughter, Merna Umstat, at home; five sisters, Rosalie, Geraldine and Catherine Burke, Mrs. Jack Mathews and Mrs. Bud Kirkpatrick, all of Council Bluffs; three brothers, James, Irvin and John Burke, all of Council Bluffs and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burke of Council Bluffs.
The body was taken from the Beem-Belford Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon to the home of her parents, 1515 Avenue I, where it will lie in state until the hour of the funeral, which will be held at the Holy family Church Wednesday at 9 a.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Rev. William Caughlin. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. (Section E, Row 19)
Funeral services for Mrs. MARY ELLEN UMSTAT were held at Holy Family Church Wednesday at 9 a.m. Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. William Caughlin.
Pallbearers were James, Leo and Alvin Kildare, Clarence Ring, Daniel Floerchinger and Allen Mass. Burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
