Hazel M. Underwood, 81, resident of Northcrest Care center, died Tuesday after an extended illness. Born in Sidney, she has resided in the Council Bluffs area for the past 45 years, except for a 10 year period when she and her husband, John, assisted in the operation of the Brestwood Cafe in Fremont, NE. Mr. Underwood died in 1975.

Survivors include two sons, Denny (Jack) Martin of Fremont, NE, and Kenneth of Neola; four daughters, Nellie Louise Pierson, Mrs. Van (Donna) Lobendo and Betty Underwood all of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Leonard (Vivian) Brester of Fremont, NE: a sister, Thelma Priest of Mountain View, MO; a brother, Howard Proctor living in Montana; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
