Thomas Vallier


Thomas Vallier

Thomas Vallier, 77, for sixty one years a resident of Pottawattamie County, died at 10 a.m. Sunday at the family residence in Garner Township after a short illness with pneumonia.

He leaves besides his wife, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Mary E. Johnson of Hazel Dell, Mrs. Lillie D. Williams of Garner Township, and Alexander, George and John Vallier. He also leaves two brothers, Thomas Vallier of Persia, and Lou Vallier of Lewisville, Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. Emily Robinson of Hot Springs, SD.

Mr. Vallier came to Iowa in 1851, settling first in Kanesville and then moving to the home farm, where his son, John, now lives.

The funeral will be held Tuesday. A short service will be held at 10 a.m. at the residence, and will be followed by a service at 1 o'clock at the Hazel Dell Church. Elders Scott and Samuel Harding will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery. (Sec. B, Row 1)
