Rice D. Vesey, 67, formerly of Underwood, died Thursday at Los Angeles, California, according to word received here. Vesey had been ill several years with a heart ailment. Born at Underwood, he farmed in that area until about 15 years ago when he moved to California. He was managing a hotel at Los Angeles at the time of his death.

The body is being returned to Council Bluffs for funeral arrangements. It will be taken to the Woodring Funeral Home.

Vesey is survived by his widow, Hazel; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Ham of Omaha and Mrs. Howard Brokman of McClelland; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Thorpe of Dix, Nebraska, Mrs. Edna M. Perry of Omaha; Mrs. George Quick of Council Bluffs; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
