John M. Walliser

John M. Walliser, 93, 39 Locust Lodge, died Monday at his home following a seven year illness. Born in West Chicago, he moved to Council Bluffs three years ago from California. He previously had been a resident here for five years. He was a trainmaster for the Chicago and North Western Railroad when he retired 23 years ago. He served with the railroad 53 years.

Mr. Walliser was a member of the Chicago and North Western Veterans Association, a Shriner at the Medinah Temple of Chicago, and a member of Blue Lodge 472 of Chicago. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Omaha in which he was a 32nd Degree Mason and the Knights of Rose Croix in Omaha.

Survivors include: widow, Maude E; nephew, George Francis of Hanitowish, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Meyer Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bernard Miars, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
