THE OBITUARY OF

Otis C. Whipple

Otis C. Whipple

Our readers will recollect that early in October we announced that Otis C. Whipple, president of the board of supervisors, had been stricken with paralysis, and that fears were entertained that his early career was of but short duration. The board met a few days after, and the members sadly missed their much beloved chairman. On motion of Mr. Goss they passed a resolution stating that they deeply regretted to hear of his severe illness and expressing the earnest hope that returning health might soon enable him to resume the position of trust and usefullness he had so honorably filled in that body. It was not so to be, for we learned yesterday that Mr. Whipple died on Tuesday at his home in Grove Township. He was a good citizen and a faithful and painstaking officer. His death is sincerely deplored by all who knew him. To the bereaved family we tender the heartfelt sympathy of the public he served so well.
