Josephine Whitney, 65, widow of Charles Whitney of Underwood, and a resident of Pottawattamie County all of her life, died of diabetis at a local hospital following an illness of six months. Mrs. Whitney was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and of Latter Day Saints Church. She was born in Pottawattamie County.

She is survived by three sons, George of Potter, NE, Walter of Iowa Falls, and Earl of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Mrs. Grace William of Delta, CO, Mrs. Hazel Spencer of Potter and Mrs. Blanche Bonnes of Underwood; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Rockford of Fort Bridger, WY, and Mrs. Minnie Hayward of Randolph, UT; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Latter Day Saints Church in Underwood, Elder Ray Whiting officiating. Burial will be in the Downsville Cemetery.
