Mary Smedley
Smedley, Mary – wife of E.G. Smedley formerly of Davenport,
Iowa – died Friday at the residence of J. L. Smedley aged 24 years, 9 months.
She was the step-daughter of the late Wm. Little of Moline, Illinois. The
funeral will be Saturday at the J. L. Smedley residence, 214 E. 6th Street in
Davenport.

FRIEDA L. STURMS, 63, a resident of the Good Samaritan home, Davenport,
Iowa, formerly of Harmon, died Friday, Oct. 5, 1984 at the home after
an extended illness. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, oct. 9 at 11:30
a.m. at the Runge Chapel, Davenport, Iowa. Burial was at Pleasant Valley
Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
Frieda Sturms was born on March 10, 1916, the daughter of William and Stella
Willis Whittington. She married Hilton Sturms in August of 1932 in Geneseo
(Illinois) . He preceded her in death in 1973.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Violet) Dietz, Walnut; two sons,
Donald, Moline, and Jerry, Davenport, Iowa; nine grandchildren; five great
grandchildren; four sisters, Loretta Neulib, and Pauline Bush, both of
Geneseo, Hazel Toppert, Kewanee and Mary Ecklung, California; and two
brothers, Farrell Whittington, Davenport, and Harley, Whittington, Morrison.
