Jesse Brown Died in Washington county, Iowa, November 17, Jesse Brown, aged 66 years, formerly of Whitefield. [Henry Republican, Henry, Ill, Published December 6, 1877] Roy Oliver Dunbar Roy Oliver Dunbar, son of Silas M. and Mary Jane Dunbar, was born near Brighton, Iowa, in Washington County on Nov. 27, 1880 and passed away in the Wayne County Hospital on Sept. 11, 1959 at the age of 78 years. He was united in marriage to Ruth Randall in 1910. To this union two sons were born, Claude Dunbar of Detroit, Mich. and Earl Dunbar who preceded him in death on April 26, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Ethel and a brother, Archie. Surviving are his wife, Ruth, son Claude, two daughters-in-law Vera Dunbar and Bonnie Dunbar, one grandson Thomas Dunbar of whom he was very fond, one brother John Dunbar, two sisters Nellie Rynor of Corydon and Gertie Elson of Lineville, and several nieces and nephews. Roy moved to Clio from Washington County with his parents when he was a small son and lived in Wayne County the remainder of his life. He was known as one of the better farmers of Wayne County. Funeral services were held at Clio Christian Church, Sept. 13th at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Roy A. Donnellson. Burial was at Clio. [unknown newspaper, 1959, submitted by A Friend of Free Genealogy] Lillie May Eckles Young Lillie May Eckles Young was born in Washington county, Iowa, April 27, 1863 and passed away Saturday, June 28, 1930, at the age of 68 years, two months and one day. She lived in Iowa until 19 years of age, during which time she attended school and taught school. On February 8, 1883, she was united in marriage to Morris Flether (Fletcher?) Young. The couple came immediately to Elk county, Kansas where he preceded her in death, November 1, 1920. To this union four children wre born, who are: Carrie, Howard, Ralph and Frank YOung, all of the home address. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church before coming to Kansas. She was a faithful worker in the Bunker Hill church, while it was in existence. She leaves to mourn her loss the four children as named above, three brothers, five sisters and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Chappell at the home on last Sunday afternoon at 5:00, whith interment in Grace Lawn cemetery. [Taken from Howard Courant, Howard, KS, July 3, 1930 - Submitted by L. Morgan]
