Frank R. Condell, 84, of Wichita, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 1994 at St. Francis Medical Center. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Private burial will be held.
He was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Butler County, the son of Will and Lena Mary Thompson Condell. He moved to Wichita from El Dorado in 1967. He was a retired rancher and was owner of Dellford Ranch where he had a herd of prize-winning Hazlett Herford Cattle. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, member of the board of directors of KSU Alumni, was president of the Kansas Livestock Association, and was president of El Dorado Rotary Club.
On July 3, 1931, he and Clementine Bacon were married in Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include: wife, Clementine; daughters, Martha Condell Darter of st. Maries, Idaho, Susan Condell Stone of Tulsa, Nancy Condell McWhorter of Longmont, Colo.; sisters, Frances Condell Falkner of Raytown, Mo., Mary Condell Dixon of Leon, Barbara Condell Allen of Scroggins, Texas; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Bacon Condell and sister, Wilma Condell Young.

Funeral services for Nora E. Conway, 77, of Bayton, Texas, were held Oct. 5, 1994, at Grace United Methodist Church the Revs. Jim Welch and James Frazier officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. She died Sunday, Oct. 2.
Born in Potwin, she was a retired money order clerk with the U.S. Post Office. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and had served in the Womens Army Corps in WWII. She was preceded in death by her first husband, A. M. Slim Hebert.
Survivors include: husband, Jack Conway of Baytown; daughter Jo Carol Trammell of El Paso; sons, Jack Conway, Joe Conway, both of Baytown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Chelsea K Kansas Cook, 84, of El Dorado, died Tuesday afternoon, Jun 7, 1994, at a local nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Belle Vista Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 17, 1910, in Butler County, the son of James Mat and Anna (Pearson) cook. Chels lived in the Chelsea community, attended school there and graduated from El Dorado High School. He was employed by KG&E for 47 years as a lineman, construction cost estimator and assistant line supervisor.
During WWII, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the 6th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater. On July 12, 1942, he and Hazel Flaherty were married in El Dorado. His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post, Elks Lodge and the KG&E Pioneer Club.
Survivors include: wife, Hazel, sisters, Elizabeth Wentling of El Dorado, Linnereau Hudson of Salina, Doris Ellithorpe of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and his parents.

Joseph Ronald Cookson, 49, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1994, at his home near Leon. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard with Rev. Andy Madding officiating. Burial will be in Grace Lawn cemetery, Howard.
He was born July 9, 1945, in Eureka, the son of Joseph Robert and Marie Darlene (McLean) Cookson. He graduated from Howard High School in 1964. In 1972, he married Connie Casper. He was a pipefitter at Blackjack Piping in El Dorado.
Survivors include: son, Joseph, daughter, Heather, both of Enid, Okla.; mother and stepfather, Marie and Charles MaGee of Independence; grandmother, Opal McLean of Howard, sisters, Carolyn Wigley of Wichita, Diane Wigley of Derby, Cheryl Cookson of Independence; stepbrothers, Kenneth MaGee of Omaha, Neb., Bill MaGee of Independence; stepsisters, Kayla Crossland of Wichita, Roselyn Sweaney of Sedan. Chris A. Cooper, 30, of rural Cassoday, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994, at his home. Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cassoday Cemetery. Rev. Victor Calcote will officiate the services.
He was born Dec. 27, 1963 in Salina, the son of Harold and Roberta (Shaw) Cooper and lived in Butler County all his life. He graduated from Augusta High School and attended Butler County Community College.
On Nov. 11, 1989, he and Marsha Bos were married in Wichita. He was a Kansas Air National Guard unit radar technician and a member of the 18th Cavalry Reenactment Unit, 184th Pistol Team and American Legion Post 81.
Survivors include: wife, Marsha, daughter, Breonna at home; mother and stepfather, Roberta and Larry Morrison of Wichita; father and stepmother, Harold and Sandy Cooper of Augusta; brother, Craig of Wichita; stepbrother, Scott Duncan of Manhattan; grandfather, Robert Shaw of Weir.

COOPER, EARL E. DR.
Services for Dr. Earl E. Cooper, 81, formerly of El Dorado were held Feb. 25 in Eugene, ore. He died Feb. 21, 1994.
He was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Edna, Okla., to John and Ellen Noble Cooper. On Aug. 27, 1939, he and Myrtell Hume were married in El Dorado. She died Sept. 14, 1991. On July 4, 1992, he and Beverely Bish were married in Grants Pass, Ore.
He received his bachelors degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., and his doctorate in theology from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kan. he had lived in El Dorado from 1937 to 1938, in Wichita for several years, and moved to Oregon in 1961. He was a retired Baptist minister with the American Baptist Convention and was a home missionary.
Survivors include; wife, Beverly, mother, Ellen Cooper, of Kellyville, Ore., daughters, Carolyn Smith, of Lamar, Colo., Rosemary Ball of St. Joseph, Mo., Jayne Cooper of Eugene, Ore., Nancy Hinke of Grants Pass, Ore., stepdaughters, Sharon Maw of Redding, Calif., Coreen Berglund, Judy Reid, both of Grants pass, stepsons, Richard Bish of Cornallis, Ore., Kim Bish of Santa Barbara, Calif., 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Ruth E. Cooper, 75, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, April 23, 1994, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel with Rev. Wayne Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 10, 1918 in Newton, the daughter of George F. and Elizabeth A. Below Morgan. She graduated from Potwin High School and Emporia State Teachers College in Greeley, Colo. She was a member of the Crossroads Christian Church, taught adult reading at Hutchinson Public Library and was active in the Big Sisters Program.
On July 11, 1964, she and Richard W. Cooper, were married in Hutchinson. He died April 15, 1981.

Leslie Richard Corbin, 84, of Towanda, died Tuesday, June 21, 1994. Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Dunsford Funeral Home and burial will be in Towanda Cemetery. Rev. Robert Hanthorn of Central Baptist Church will officiate.
He was born Sept. 27, 1909, in Augusta, the son of James R. and Fern Fulton Corbin. On Feb. 14, 1942, he and Ruth Burress were married in Augusta. He was a farmer and stockman and served on the Silverton School District during the school unification and continued on the Circle District. He was instrumental in organizing the Butler County fair livestock sale and was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Fern, son, Senator David Corbin, of Towanda; sister, Dorothy Forpahl, Margaret Morris, Janet Markley, all of Augusta, Genevieve Renschler of Ponca City, Okla. She was born Jan. 10, 1897, in Ringwood, Olka., the daughter of John Yost Bogle and Mary Chessella Sparks. On Dec. 15, 1914, she and Elmer Morton Cotton were married in El Dorado. He died Aug. 22, 1982.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon Hohlfield, of derby, Rosalea Hall of Winfield, two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Coulson Funeral Friday At Chapel
A combined funeral services for Dale DuWane Coulson, 59, and his daughter, Vauna Jean Coulson, 30, both of Towanda, will be held in the chapel of Dunsford's Funeral Home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Coulson and his daughter were killed in a truck-train mishap at a rail crossing southwest of Towanda Tuesday afternoon. They were riding in a pickup truck with camper which was overturned by a Missouri Pacific freight train.
The truck reportedly slammed between two engines of the train after leaving 40 feet of skid marks at the crossing.
Dale Coulson was born Oct. 13, 1919 in Wichita as a son of Roy Golburn and Mabel Vern Cooper Coulson.
He married the former Wilma Alice Dennett in a ceremony at Wichita on Oct. 5, 1946. She survives.
He was a prisoner of war in Bataan during World War II for 42 months. Because of his heroic service with the Fourth Marines, he was awarded the purple Heart, Bronze Star and a Letter of Citation from President Harry Truman and General Wainwright.
Coulson was a member of the Andover American Legion post.
He retired from Civil Service employment in 1968.
Other survivors of the father include a son, Dennis Dale Coulson of Phoenix, Ariz., two brothers, Raymond of Augusta and Willis of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Lucy Viola Dennett, Route 3, and Ruth Andre of San Francisco, Calif., two grandchildren, Chad Coulson and Kannette Kramer.
The daughter, Vauna Jean, was born May 9, 1948 in Wichita.
Her survivors include her mother, Wilma Coulson; a daughter Lannette Denise Kramer and her brother, Dennis Dale Coulson of Phoenix.

Wilma A. Coulson, 72, Augusta, died Wednesday, July 3, 1996, Wesley Hospital, Wichita.
Her service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta and she will be buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
The homemaker was born Dec. 3, 1923 in Butler County, to Newt and Hazel (Taylor) Dennett.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Coulson of Wichita; sisters Dorothy Whitson of Roseburg, Ore., Twila Groves of Wichita, Darlene Bryan, Bellingham, Wash.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.

He was born June 17, 1907, in Fairfax, Okla., the son of M. B. and Sadie (Stone) Countryman. He lived in the Butler County area since 1922. He was a rancher, stockman and cowboy and annually hosted the Countryman 4th of July Rodeo at Cassoday.
Survivors include: companion Lois Moore of Rosalia.

He was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Walton, the son of Charles C. Covalt and Frances L. Reeves. On June 6, 1954, he and Loraine Stuart were married in Furley. He was a retired brick layer for Koehn Associates and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Loraine, mother, Lorene Covalt of Whitewater, Daughters, Debra Barbur of Abilene, Joyce Bastow of Newton, sisters, Marilyn Pyle of Towanda, Mary Ann Covalt of Whitewater, five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale.

Carl E. Cox, Sr., 78, of El Dorado died Thursday night, Sept. 29, 1994, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Belle Vista Cemetery.
He was born March 31, 1916, near Douglass, the son of Burl Lee and Lytha Cox and moved to El Dorado in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Foursquare Gospel Church.
On Sept. 7, 1937, he and Bertha Lister were married in El Dorado.
Survivors include: wife, Bertha, sons, Carl Jr. of Ramona, Okla., Jimmy of Augusta, daughters, Carolyn Hoy, Clara Harker, both of El Dorado, brother Cecil of Augusta, sisters, Mary McNickles of Augusta, Mable Tucker of Winfield, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Floyd Ernest Cox, 77, of Emporia, died Monday, Sept. 12, 1994. Services were held this morning at Carlson Funeral Home in Emporia with Rev. John Richter officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Allen, the son of Roy E. Cox and Nola Mae Lambert, and graduated from Emporia High School. He was retired from Emporia Tent and Awning where he had worked for 32 years. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: sisters, Virginia Fowler of Emporia, Joan Wescott of El Dorado, niece, Barbara Pringle of Emporia.

Canfield Services Tuesday Afternoon
Ernest Canfield, 65, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday evening. He resided at 1110 School Street. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Dunsford Chapel, with the service read by Rev. A. H. Tebben. Interment will be made in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Canfield was born March 13, 1880 at Bidwell, Iowa. On March 6, 1907, he was married to Jessie Ritchie at Wichita. The sons, Merle, Earl and Gene are also survivors. Brothers are Loyd Canfield of Sumner, Wash., and Homer Canfield in the navy. Two sisters, Elsie and Mildred, live in Washington. His stepmother Mrs. Mary Canfield is also in Washington. There are two stepbrothers, Roscoe and Lester Winn.
Mr. Canfield was employed 20 years at the Socony-Vacuum refinery, coming here from Derby. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen.

Ernest Canfield
Ernest Canfield, son of George and Mary Jane Canfield, was born March 13, 1880 at Bidwell, IA., and passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, February 2, 1946. He would have been 66 years of age at his next birthday.
Mr. Canfield moved from the state of Iowa with his parents to Derby, Kansas in 1900. While living there his mother passed away.
In 1905, he moved to a farm southwest of Augusta, where he met his wife Jesse Pearl Richey. THey were married on March 6, 1907. To this union were born three children; Merle, Earl and Gene, all of whom reside in Augusta. There are five grandchildren; Marlene, Duane, Donald, Melvin and Marvin.
Ernest Canfield was employed by the Socony-Vacuum refinery for a period of 20 years. He retired from this occupation on January 1, 1945. He was a friend to all who knew him, especially his fellow workers. He was a member of the War Dads organization and Modern Woodman lodge, but most of his time was spent in the interest of his family.
Other suvivors are: one brother, Lloyed of Sumner, Wash.; his step-mother, Mary Canfield of Puyallup, WA.

CANFIELD, JESSIE PEARL RICHEY
Jessie Canfield Rites Wednesday
Funeral services will be held at the Dunsford Funeral home Chapel at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon for Jessie Pearl Canfield, 85, who died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical complex. The Rev. Don Canfield and the Rev. Richard Bacon will conduct the services. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Jessie Canfield was born Dec. 20, 1889 at Mulvane, the daughter of Robert M. & Elizabeth (Berger) Richey. She married Ernest Canfield at Wichita on March 6, 1907. He preceded her in death in 1946.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Merle Canfield of Augusta and Gene Canfield of Wichita; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
A son, Earl Canfield, preceded her in death.
