BUTLER COUNTY'S EIGHTY YEARS BIOS
JUDGE PIERSON HALL
(Transcribed by Peggy Luce)
The death of Jud P. Hall was a bitter blow to all of us to his wife and baby, to his mother and brothers and sisters, and to the El Dorado that knew him as boy and man. It was all so tragically bitter, so needless, this snuffing out of a useful life because somebody blundered. It has saddened the town that knew and loved him. For a fine, upstanding young man was Jud Hall, clear-eyed, cleanly and strongly built, self-reliant, courageous and cheerful. He was possessed of an abounding vigor and he added color and life to any gathering. He had shouldered his way up to a very fair success at thirty-five, and bore the general respect of his fellows. There was nothing weak or flabby about Jud Hall. He was all man. On the baseball diamond, in the dry goods store, in positions of trust for others, in the oil business he brought the same quality of manhood, the same square dealing. There was no subterfuge about him, no guile in his dealings, no weakness in his sturdy nature.
And so the town sorrows for the loss of one of its beloved sons. January 20, 1920
