PENNER, RUDOLPH "RUDI" H.

WHITEWATER - Rudolph "Rudi" H. Penner, 87, died Saturday (Sept. 2, 2006) at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.

He was born Sept. 9, 1918, to Kurt H. and Bertha M. (Schmidt) Penner in Whitewater. He married Anna E. Voth on Oct. 10, 1940, at Emmaus Church in Whitewater. She preceded him in death in 1991.

He was a member of Emmaus Mennonite Church where he was a former deacon. He was a member of the Mennonite Men's Chorus and was a founding board member of Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.

Survivors include: son, Leroy and Florence Penner of Peabody; sister, Hilda (Penner) Ray of Winfield; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lago, Jeremy Penner, Brian Penner and Scott Penner; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany Lago, Brooke Lago, Jessica Lago and Katie Penner.

He also was preceded in death by: sons, Stanley, Gerald Lee and William Henry; brothers, Paul and Karl; and a sister, Charlotte.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater with family present.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Mennonite Church in rural Whitewater with Pastors Rodney Crowell and Jim Voth officiating.

Burial will be in Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the Emmaus Church Relief Fund and Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home, 120 S. Main Street, Whitewater, KS 67154.

PEABODY - Stanley "Stan" James Penner, 60, farmer, died Friday (Jan. 13, 2006) in Indio, Calif.

He was born May 2, 1945, to Rudolph H. and Anna Edna (Voth) Penner in Peabody. He married Peggy Grosse April 22, 1972, in Peabody. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater.

Other survivors include: a son, Jeremy Penner of Wiggins, Colo.; a daughter, Jennifer and husband Barry Lago of Littleton, Colo.; father, Rudi Penner of Peabody; brother, Leroy Penner of Peabody; and granddaughters, Jessica, Brittany and Brooke Lago.

His mother preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater with Pastor Rodney Crowell officiating.

Burial will be in Emmaus Church Cemetery.

REGIER, EDNA H.

Edna H. Regier, 92, of North Newton died Friday (Sept. 15, 2006) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born March 23, 1914, to John and Elizabeth (Thierstein) Claassen in Whitewater. They preceded her in death. She married Gus H. Regier Jr. on Sept. 18, 1935, at Emmaus Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2001.

She graduated from Whitewater High School with the class of 1931.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: a son, Les Regier and wife Lovella of Kingsburg, Calif.; a daughter, Betty Regier of Wichita; a sister, Elsie Claassen of Whitewater; a brother-in-law, Herman Klaassen of Newton; a sister-in-law, Helen Claassen of Whitewater; grandchildren, Tami and husband Chris Burnett of Ripon, Calif., and Todd Regier and wife Lisa of Kingsburg, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Kyle and Riley Burnett of Ripon and Jillian and Trent Regier of Kingsburg.

She also was preceded in death by: a daughter, Judy; five sisters; and eight brothers.

Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery in Whitewater, with Pastor Don Myer officiating.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Newton Bible Church.
