Selma Fern Elrod, 76, of Valley Center, homemaker, died Monday, Jan. 24, 1994. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Burden.

Survivors include: husband, Clinton of Valley Center, brother, Dan Neill of Oregon, sister, Alma Tatum of Burden.

ENTZ, GUSTAV “GUS” W.

Gustav “Gus” W. Entz, 84, of Peabody, died Monday, July 25, 1994, at Newton Medical Center. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Emmaus Mennonite Church, rural Whitewater. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born Feb. 5, 1910, in Whitewater, the son of Herman B. Entz and Anna (Harder) Entz. On Oct. 30, 1935, he and Louise M. Busenitz were married. She preceded him in death May 4, 1985. He was a farmer and stockman and a member of the Emmaus Mennonite Church.

Survivors include: sons, Clifford of Peabody, Elwood of Wichita, daughters, Lucille Diller of Upland, Ind., Annabelle Wells of Axtell, Neb., brother Willie of Whitewater, sister, Anna Busenitz of Newton, 12 grandchildren.

EVANS, HAZEL B.

Hazel B. Evans, 95, of Wichita, formerly of El Dorado, homemaker, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994 at HCA Wesley Medical center. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wichita Presbyterian Manor Chapel with Rev. Dr. Robert Evans officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

She was born Jan. 4, 1899, in Springfield, Ill. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado.

Survivors include: sons, Joe of Wichita, Robert of Simsbury, CT., Richard of Napa, CA., Jerry of Moore, Ok., sister, Dorothy Meyers of Wichita, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

EVANS, LESTER A. J.

Lester A. J. Evans, 72, of Wichita, retired Cessna Aircraft Co. sheet metal mechanic, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1994. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary.

Survivors include: wife, Ruby, sons, Charles, Jimmie, both of Wichita, daughters, Patsy Blevans, Karen Lassley, both of Wichita, Jeannie Smith of Benton, sisters, Faey Gibson of Bixby, Okla., Aline Mercer of Rowlett, Texas, Vona of Mannford, Okla., Alice Jones of Fort Gibson, Okla., nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. ELLIOTT, JUNE L. HUGHES

June L. Elliott, 83, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2006.

Funeral service was held this morning at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.

Mrs. Elliott was born in Stratford, Texas on June 10, 1923, the daughter of Buell and Jenny (Riggins) Hughes. She had been an employee at Boeing after the war and worked as a nurses aide at Walnut Valley Manor. On December 13, 1943 she married James F. Elliott in El Dorado. He preceded her in death.

ELLIOTT, JAMES F.

James "Jim" F. Elliott, 81, Augusta, retired Mobil Oil Refinery maintenance employee died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.

Visitation will be possible from 4 to 8 p.m., family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include: wife, June Elliott of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Phyllis Elliott of Kilgore, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Dale Reynolds of Douglass; two grandchildren; on great-grandson.

Memorial established with Arthritis Foundation, Kansas Chapter, 1602 E. Waterman, Wichita, 67211-1878.

ELLIOTT, ALVA LEE

Lee Elliott, 81, of Augusta died Tuesday, Dec 28, 1999.

His funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Jan 3, 2000 at First Christian Church in Augusta with Rev. Tom Davis officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

He was born Nov 2, 1918 in Browntown, south of Augusta, to J. W. and Mary Logsdon Elliott.

He was married to Harriett Bryan on Jan. 29, 1943. She survives.

Mr. Elliott was a retired employee of Mobil Oil refinery transportation department.

He also leaves a brother Jim Elliott of Augusta and several neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several sisters and brothers.

He was a 50-year member of the local Masonic Lodge.

Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church of Augusta, 1600 State.

The Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

ELLIOTT, MARY NAOMI LOGSDON

Death of Mrs. Elliott After Lengthy Illness

The death of Mrs. Mary N. Elliott, 70, occurred last evening at her home, 1117 Ada Street; after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dunsford Chapel.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Logsdon, Mrs. Elliott was born in Elk City. In 1900, she was married to Joseph W. Elliott at Catoosa, Oklahoma.

Surviving children include: Mrs. Virgil Hanes of Augusta; Mrs. W.D. Fudge of El Dorado; Gladys of the home; Lee and Jim Elliott of Augusta. There are several surviving brothers.

Before coming to this community in 1906, the Elliotts lived in Pawnee, Okla. She was a member of the Christian Church and the pastor, Rev. Burrus Thomas, will conduct the final rites. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

ELLIOTT, JOSEPH WORLEY

J. W. Elliott Dies of Pneumonia

The death of Joseph Worley Elliott, 71, occurred in the Allen Hospital in El Dorado yesterday of pneumonia. He had been in poor health for the past two years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Dunsford chapel with Rev. Edwin G. Michael, assisted by Rev. R. R. Shirk, in charge. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Elliott was born in Greensburg, Ind. on December 16, 1869. He was married to Mary Lodson on September 2, 1900 in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Other survivors include; three daughters, Mrs. Virgil Hanes and Mrs. W.D. Fudge of Augusta, and Gladys Elliott at home; two sons, Lee and Jim at home; three grandchildren; a brother, W. D. Elliott, Elk City.

Before coming to Butler County in 1906, Mr. Elliott resided in Pawnee, Oklahoma. For 36 years he served as engineer, for the 27 years for Lewis Brothers Rock Crusher Company. The past two years he was unable to work.

Mr. Elliott was a member of the Christian Church. Pall bearers will be: Wallie Marshall, Bruce Alexander, Wayne Frost, Dan Elliott, Henry Cease and John Reed.
