FANKHAUSER, LYDIA M.

Lydia M. Fankhauser, 90, of Madison, died Tuesday, May 31, 1994. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lamont. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was born Feb. 25, 1904, in rural Lamont to Timon and Mary Winkler Emch and lived most of her life in the Lamont and Madison areas. She was a homemaker and teacher and had graduated from the Kansas Normal School in Emporia.

On July 30, 1927, she and Clarence Fankhauser were married in Madison. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Kansas Cowbells, Greenwood County HDU, Greenwood County Cowbells and a charter member of the Lamont Study Club.

Survivors include: husband, Clarence, sons, Gene of Madison, Vern of Elmdale, Loy of El Dorado, brother, Martin Emch of Madison, sister, Eva Emch of Sabetha; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

FELLER, MARY JANE

Mary Jane Feller, 67, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 4, 1994 at HCA Wesley Medical Center. Rosary is 7:30 p.m. today, services are 1 p.m. Thursday, both at St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

She was born April 4, 1926, in El Dorado to Thomas G. and Frances Ann (Farrel) Mulvaney, and lived in El Dorado all her life. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1944. On June 19, 1947, she and Wendell Feller were married.

For several years she was an operator for Southwestern Bell and had recently retired from the Butler County Treasurer’s office. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include: husband, Wendell; sons, Dan of Plano, Texas, Steve of Grain Valley, Mo., Tom of Broken Arrow, Okla., Tim of Tulsa, daughters, Theresa Wick of Yankton, S. D., Sally Owens of El Dorado, sisters, Pauline Redburn of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sue Stephenson of Rosalia, 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.

FELLER, WENDELL

Wendell Feller, 68, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 1994, at his home. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1926, in Nampa, Idaho, the son of Roy and Helen Feller and moved to El Dorado as a child. He graduated from El Dorado High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.

On June 19, 1947, he and Mary Jane Mulvaney were married. She died Jan. 4, 1994. For more than 40 years he was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the local American Legion post.

Survivors include: sons, Dan of Plano, Texas, Steve of Grain Valley, Mo., Tom of Broken Arrow, Okla., Time of Tulsa, Okla., daughters, Theresa Wick of Yankton, S.D., Sally Owens of El Dorado, sisters, Marguerite Robison of Leon, RaDean Lipscomb of Augusta, 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darwain Feller.

FENNELL, DONALD “JOE”

Donald “Joe” Fennell, 67, of El Dorado, died this morning, Feb. 14, 1994 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be announced later by Carlson Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 14, 1994)

Donald “Joe” Fennell, 67, of El Dorado, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Towanda Cemetery.

He was born April 8, 1926, in Augusta, the son of Charles and Elma Wood Fennell. He worked for Skelly Refinery as an insulator, retiring after over 42 years of service. He was a member of O.C.A.W. #5-241. He had made his home in the Butler County area all of his life. On July 20, 1968, he married Betty West in El Dorado.

Survivors include: wife, Betty, son Jim Graham, Rosalia; daughters, Barbara Jo Fennell of Winfield, Joyce Maish of Augusta, Kathy Lill of El Dorado, Ann Parsons of Springfield, Mo., Susan Hughes of El Dorado, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

FAIRES, NOVAL

Services for Noval Faires, 91, of El Dorado, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. After the services, Masonic rites will be conducted by Patmos Masonic Lodge 97, AF&AM. (El Dorado Times, Oct. 1, 1994)

Noval Faires, 91, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 1994 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born July 31, 903, in Winona, Mo., and moved to El Dorado in the late 1920’s. He operated a Skelly service station in El Dorado for many years and was a rural mail carrier for a while before retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

In 1931 he and Margaret Baker were married in El Dorado. They were married for 63 years.

Survivors include: wife, Margaret, son, Wesley of Wichita, daughters, Nancy Luck of Pittsburg, Caroline Gregory of Wichita, sisters, Elsie George of Republic, Mo., Val Faires of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

FANCHER, CLARENCE WILLIS JR.

Clarence Willis Francher, Jr., 69, of Emporia, formerly of Rosalia, died Monday, Jan. 31, 1994, at Newman Hospital. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pastor John F. Richter with Grace United Methodist Church will officiate services. Military graveside services will be conducted by Ball-McColm Post 5 American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post 1980 V.F.W.

He was born April 28, 1924, in Hartford, to Clarence Willis and Ethel Anne (Smith) Fancher, Sr. He was a decorated WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1948 he and Juanita Wymore were married.

He was a conductor/switchman for Santa Fe Railroad for 36 years. His memberships included United Transportation Union, Fraternal Order of Eagle Aeire 2587, Ball-McColm Post 5 American Legion, Lowry-Funston Post 1980 V. F. W.

Survivors include, son, Thomas, of Osage City, daughter, Mona Thomason of Augusta; mother, Ethel Fancher of Emporia, brothers, George, Ray, Wes, all of Emporia; sister, Ethel Seastrom of Emporia, four grandchildren. He was preceded in death b his father.

Memorials are to Beta Sigma Phi Heart Fund. (El Dorado Times, Feb. 1, 1994)

FORBES, DOLLIE DENNETT

Dollie Forbes Rites Tuesday

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Augusta Church of Christ for Dollie Elizabeth Forbes, 89, who died Saturday at the Walnut Valley Manor in Augusta. E.J. Joice will conduct the services. Interment will be at Branson Cemetery at Rose Hill.

Dollie Elizabeth Forbes was born Oct. 28, 1879 in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Nancy (Moreland) Dennett. She was married to Charles David Forbes in 1901. He preceded her in death in 1928.

Mrs. Forbes came to Rose Hill in 1875 and was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Lee R. of Wichita; a daughter, Mrs. Velma Nutter of Augusta; a brother, Charles Dennett of Rose Hill; four half sisters, Mrs. Rose Pray of Wichita, Ruth Black of Lyons, Elsie Thon of Sawyer and Susie Butcher of Wichita; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A son, Raymond C. preceded her in death in December 1968.

FUDGE, NANNIE

Nannie Fudge Rites Monday

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Dunsford Funeral Chapel for Nannie Fudge, 88, who died at the Allen Memorial hospital in El Dorado Thursday. The Rev. Paul Gilbert will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Nannie Fudge was born May 24, 1879 at Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of James and Melissa (Milor) Allison. She was married to William David Fudge at Winfield on Jan 5, 1904. He preceded her in death in 1937. Three brothers also preceded her in death, as did two sisters.

Mrs. Fudge came to Augusta in 1905 from Piedmont, Kansas.

Survivors include three daughters, Lucille Mauk of Pharr, Tex., Mildred Fortier of Pueblo, Colo., and Pauline Sisson of Richland, MO.; three sons, William of El Dorado, Leroy of Augusta and Grover of Exeter, MO; a sister, Lisa Jane Allison of Bartlesville, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
