MR. AND MRS. J. D. GREEN

LEON COUPLE OBSERVE THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Green of Leon, was held Thursday, January 11, at the commodious home of their daughter, Mrs. Cora Brown in Haverhill. Children, grandchildren, old friends and neighbors numbering more than sixty, assembled to show their love for Mr. and Mrs. Green whom they learned to appreciate in perilous and pioneer days, when a good neighbor was as a star in a clouded sky.

All along the way friends and neighbors have traveled in companionship with them, sharing joys and sorrows and passing along the decline with loving memories only mellowed with the passing of years. Their golden wedding day will long live a cherished and belssed memory, a day of mingled emotions of the joy of meeting and a consciousness of a certain day of parting when the only possible reunion can be beyond the river where good-byes shall ever be said.

The children present were Mrs. Cora Brown, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Green and daughters, Mr. and mrs. Ed Green and children, of Eureka; Mrs. Ida Ridge, of Iola; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Green, son and daughter, of Vona, Colo.
