HARMON, CHARLOTTE MARIE (PIPER)

Charlotte Marie (Piper) Harmon, 81, of Andover, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1994 at Andover Health Center in Andover.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Wichita. Burial will follow the services at Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita.

Mrs. Harmon was born Feb. 16, 1913 in Holton, the daughter of Harry Harold and Jenny Marie (Dewey) Piper. On Nov. 19, 1939 she was married to Harry Raymond Harmon in Marquette. He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1976.

Mrs. Harmon worked for the Bucks and Macys department stores. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist church in Wichita; a member of Homebuilders Auxiliary; active in church dinners for Boy Scouts, youth groups, family functions and reunions, and a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving family include one son, Harold Harmon of El Dorado, two daughters, Sharon Lee of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Carolyn Wilson of Wichita, one brother, Charles Piper of Marquette, two sisters, Ruth Peterson of Lindsborg, and Lucille Kumle of Marquette; and 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

HARMS, RICHARD L.

Richard L. Harms, 67, of Prague, Okla., formerly of El Dorado, died Sunday, July 3, 1994, at Shawnee (Okla.) Medical Center. Services were held Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel with Dr. Ben Husted officiating. Burial was in Prague Cemetery.

He was born April 25, 1927, in Elbing, the son of Leonard and Alma Miller Harms. He attended rural Butler County schools, El Dorado High School and El Dorado Junior College. On Sept. 17, 1955, he and Marjorie Hansen were married in Council Bluff, Iowa. He was a retired computer programmer at Tinker Air Force Base.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 18 months during WWII and serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired with 26 years of service and moved to Prague in 1971 after his retirement from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Prague, the Elks Club, El Dorado; and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Survivors include: wife, Marjorie, sons, Dennis of Tulsa, Dale of Sand Springs, Okla., brothers, Leo, Lawrence, Lloyd, all of El Dorado, sisters, Mildred Danielson of Waukegan, Ill., Clara Abendroth of Prague, four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

HARRIS, BERTHA AMMETER

Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, Tenn. She died Nov. 14, 1994. Rev Jim Beaty and Rev. David Watson officiated at the services. Burial was in Richlawn cemetery.

She was born in Burns, the daughter of Alfred and Fannie Frey Ammeter and had lived in Humphreys county about 40 years. She was a homemaker, member of the Waverly First United Methodist Church, and a former member of Ellis Grove Home Demostration Club and Order of the Eastern Star in Kansas. She was married to the late Bailey R. Harris.

Survivors include: daughter, Evelyn Huttenhoff of Waverly, sisters, Lee Bell, of Waverly, Rosemary Manning of Newton, six great-grandchildren. (El Dorado Times, Dec. 2, 1994)

HART, EVERETT T.

Everett T. Hart, 83, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1994, at Wesley Medical Center. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Rev. Bill Bullard will officiate the services.

He was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Stillwater, Okla., the son of Harry and Bessie (Coleman) Hart. He moved to Kansas as a child and lived in this area most of his life. In 1931, he and Ernestine Truman were married. She died in 1956. In 1959 he and Margaret Robinson Caroll were married in Augusta.

For many years he owned and operated the Hart Hearting and Air Conditioning company. He was a member of the El Dorado Country Club.

Survivors include: wife, Margaret, sister, Dorothy Nickel of El Dorado, two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

HART, LOUIA ANN

Louia Ann Hart, 87, of Beaumont, died Monday, Jan. 17, 1994, at the Greenwood County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the East Beaumont Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 25, 1906, the daughter of James E. and Sally Bertha (Tinsley) Utt, in Cambridge, where she graduated from high school as valedictorian. She graduated with honors from Pittsburg College and taught school.

On Sept. 24, 1924, she and Howard Arville Hart were married in Cambridge. He died March 28, 1986. They farmed in the Leon area until 1951 when they purchased a farm northeast of Severy where they lived until moving to Beaumont after retiring. They raised their niece, Patricia Squire.

Her memberships included Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Beaumont Christian church, CWF, Lend A Hand Club, and the Iris Club.

Survivors include: niece Patricia Squire, of Beaumont, adopted sister, Dorothy Flower of Winfield, three grandnieces; one grandnephew, several other nieces and nephews.

HARTMETZ, VIRGINIA

Private services will be held for Virginia Hartmetz, 83, of Warrensburg, Mo., who died Saturday, April 30, 1994.

She was a 1929 graduate of a Wichita high school and attended Milwaukee-Downer College in Milwaukee, Wis., and the University of Kansas. Her memberships included Gamma Phi Beta Sorority in Wichita and the Wedgwood International Seminar.

Survivors include: husband, Gerald, daughter, Susan Bonett, of Warrensburg, sons, Jake of Goodland, Jud of Gladstone, Mo., five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Williams Funeral Home in Holden, Mo., had the arrangements.

HEITZENRATER, WILLIAM E.

William E. "Bill" Heitzenrater, Sr., 67, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Beaumont Christian Church. Burial will be in the Beaumont Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Paul R. and Virginia Givens Heitzenrater, and had lived in Beaumont since 1948. He was manager/operator of the Straw Service Station in Beaumont and a member of the Leon Christian Church.

On April 3, 1948, he and Billie Jean Straw were married in Wichita.

Survivors include: wife, Billie Jean, sons, William Jr., of Towanda, Robert of Ponca City, daughters, Susan McCollum of Lawrence, Karen Bryant of Tulelake, Calif., Debra Davidson of Winfield, brother, Jim, sister, Betty Roulette, both of Lakeland, Fla., seven grandchildren.

HUMIG, WENONA JULIET

Wenona Juliet Humig, 73, of El Dorado, died Monday, June 6, 1994, at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kirby-Morris Funeral home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church and burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Hannibal and Juliet (McCarty) Brito, and moved to El Dorado in 1947 from Hawaii.

On Aug. 2, 1942, she and Paul Francis Humig were married. He died Sept. 21, 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: sons, Hannibal "Butch" of Wichita, Joseph of El Dorado, daughters, Chansonett, Kisner of Denver, Colo., Colette Stewart of Lawton, Okla., Theresa Fowler of Burns, Veronica Morgan of Towanda, Patrice Humig of El Dorado, Cecilia Pruitt of Marion, Va., Jonna Lechner of Oak, Neb., sisters, Rowena Hardey, Mollie Bishop, Hilda Rogers, all of Hawaii, 37 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

HUSTON, RALPH J. "SAM"

Ralph J. "Sam" Huston, 74, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Madison (Kan.) Manor. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Bartlesville, Okla., the son of James and Donna McDowell Huston. During WWII he served in the Army Air corps in the European Theatre. On Jan. 25, 1948, he and Oleta Wells were married in Eureka.

He was a gauger for Getty Oil company and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, V. F.W., Cooties and the Pratt Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include: wife, Oleta, son, Gene of Americus, daughter, Diana Hunter of Galveston, Texas, brothers, Charles of Titusville, Pa., William of Yuma, Ariz., sister, Dorothy Swick of Anchorage, Alaska, two grandchildren, two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

HUTTER, JANIS CARTER

Janis Meriem Carter Hunter, 51, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 1994 at her home near Benton, La. There were no funeral services, cremation was held.

She was born March 12, 1943, in El Dorado to Dale and Ermol Van Horn Carter, and attended Augusta schools. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1961.

On Aug. 1, 1964, she and Andrew Hutter were married in Augusta. She began teaching high school at Dwight and later taught school in Bossier Parish, La.

Survivors include, husband, Andrew, daughters, Jill Richardson of Council Grove, Sheri Broadway of Grand Cane, La., Cindy Hutter, of Benton, La., two grandchildren; father, Dale Carter of Wichita, sister, Mary Carter McCune of rural Augusta.

Memorials are to the restoration and repair of the Augusta Township Cemetery, and may be sent to Joe Linot, Rot. 1, Box 132, El Dorado.

HOUGH, GERALD DWANE

Services Tomorrow

Gerald Dwane Hough, aged three months and 18 days died in Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Wednesday. The baby was born November 23, 1941 in Augusta and is the son of Harriet Fudge Hough and W. J. Hough. Two brothers, Charles Irwin and Bobby Dean, and three sisters, Wanda Jean, Dorothy Louise and Mildred Irene, also survive.

Capt. Walter Sharlow of the Salvation Army will conduct the services, Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Dunsford chapel. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  (Augusta Daily Gazette, Thursday, Mar 12, 1942 ~ Transcribed by Judy Mayfield)

William Leroy Hough, the 10 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hough died today at the home of his parents on seventh. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Hough and Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Fudge. The Funeral will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Dunsford funeral home. Rev. Edward Clutter will conduct the services. HOUGH, HARRIETTE A. FUDGE

Young woman dies of Brain Hemorrhage

Funeral services for Harriette Angela Hough, 37, whose death occurred Monday in the Allen Memorial hospital of a brain hemorrhage have not been completed as yet at the Dunsford Funeral Home. One of her brothers, William Fudge, in the service is to be contacted by the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Hough, the former Harriette Fudge, was born on March 9, 1908 at Augusta. She was a lifetime resident of Butler County. Her marriage to W. J. Hough occurred 14 years ago at Newkirk, Okla. In addition to her husband, she is survived by these children - Wanda Jean, 13; Dorothy Louise, 9; Bobby Dean, 11; Charles, 10; Mildred Irene, 6; Darrell Douglas, 2; Nancy Ann, 1.

Surviving brothers and sisters are - William Fudge in the Service; Roy Fudge, Benton; Grover; Mrs. Lucille Mauk, Augusta; Mrs. Mildred Fortier, Pueblo, Colo; Mrs. Pauline Sisson, Augusta, Kansas.
