COOPER,
BLANCHE
Blanche Cooper, 70, route 1, Cassoday, died Saturday at the Halstead Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at the Cassoday United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Cassoday Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born March 21, 1911 in Kendrick, Okla., the daughter of Franklin and Mary (Wasson) Griggs. On June
21, 1930 she was married to Ivan Cooper in El Dorado. She was a homemaker and a resident of the Cassoday area since
1913.
Survivors include her husband, Ivan, of the home; two sons, Lewis B., El Dorado, and Harold R., Augusta, one daughter,
Mrs. Mary E. Unruh, Emporia, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Fund and the Arthritis Fund.

HANNA, JOHN
MICHAEL
John Michael Hanna, 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hanna, Jr. of Cassoday, died Wednesday at St. Francis
Hospital.
He was born February 19, 1973, at Marion, Ind. Survivors also include two brothers, Steve and Joe, two sisters,
Kim and Beth, all of the home. His grandparents, are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hanna, Sr., Marshfield, Mo.; Mike Flynn,
Springfield, Mo.; and Mrs. Dee Keener, Billings, Mo.
Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Cassoday Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cassoday Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at Dietz-Carlson Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established in his memory at the Bradford Memorial Library for the Childrens Book Fund. Contributions
may be left at the library or at Dietz-Carlson Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times, December 25, 1975)
Services were held Saturday Dec. 27 at the Cassoday Methodist Church for John Michael Hanna, 2, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Hanna Jr. (Sharon Flynn) of Cassoday. He died December 24 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Rev. Marvin Bower officiated. Burial was in the Cassoday cemetery. Miss Janice Patton played the accompaniment
for John Schaak. He sang "Born Free," and "Lord's Prayer."
Casket bearers were Larry Nelson, Glenn Tallman, Floyd Brown and Ted Nelson. Honorary bearers were Denny Wingate,
Virgil Cummins and Les Stalnaker.
John was born February 19, 1973 at Marion, Ind., is survived, in addition to his parents, by two brothers, Steve
and Joe, and two sisters, Kim and Beth, all of the home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hanna, Marshfield,
Mo., Mr. Mike Flynn, Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Dee Keener, Billings, Mo.
A memorial has been established to the Children's Book Fund at Bradford Memorial Library.

MILLER,
HERMAN H.
Herman H. Miller, 89, of 1109 North Taylor, a former resident of the Cassoday area and a retired farmer died Friday
evening at Allen Memorial hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cassoday United Methodist Church. Burial will be in
the Cassoday Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born at Joliet, Ill., on June 11, 1880. He came to Kansas in 1888, living at Haven. He moved to
a farm in Butler county southwest of Cassoday in 1939 and lived there until his retirement in 1956. At that time,
Mr. Miller moved to El Dorado.
He was married to Marie Robinson on Aug. 20, 1923.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Curtis Unruh of Cassoday, Mrs. Robert Williams of Wellington, and
Mrs. Ray Ward of Mountain View, Calif., two sons, Harry L. Miller and Herman J. Miller, both of Cassoday and by
13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, a daughter and a grandchild.
A memorial in his name has been established with the Cassoday United Methodist Church.

WALTER W.
Services for Walter W. Mulanax, 62, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Brown -Bennett Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls,
Kans. Burial will be in Cassoday. He died Friday of an illness in Michigan.
He was born in Denison, Kan.
Survivors include his widow, Dora; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Mulanax, Cottonwood Falls; a brother, Arthur, Cottonwood
Falls, and a sister, Mrs. Lee Gurney, Cedar Point. (El Dorado times, December 5, 1969)
NEUKIRCH,
MOLLIE ELLEN (MRS. LEWIS)
Mrs. Lewis (Mollie Ellen) Neukirch, Route 1, Fall River, former Cassoday resident, died Sunday evening at Susan
B. Allen Memorial Hospital. She was 69.
She was born Oct. 11, 1906 at Freedom, Okla. She had made her home at Cassoday for the past 30 years, recently
moving to Fall River.
She was married to Lewis Neukirch, Feb. 6, 1926 at Alva, Okla. She was a member of the Rebekah Friendship Lodge,
No. 10, El Dorado, and was a past Noble Grand of the Lodge; also a member of El Dorado Encampment Auxiliary No.
56. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Cassoday.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis of the home; two sons, Calvin Neukirch, Kansas city, Kan., and Eddie Neukirch,
Salina; three daughters, Mrs. Luella Dahlquist, Dodge City, Mrs. Thelma Griffin, Beverly and Mrs. Edna Mcclain,
Onaga, three brothers, George Davidson, Freedom, Okla., Joe Davidson, Alva, Okla., and Alfred Davidson, Eureka,
four sisters, Mrs. Grace Beagley, Buffalo, Okla., Mrs. Lucy Carver, Alva, Okla., Mrs. Annie Hodson, Freedom, Okla.,
and Mrs. Elva Sampson, Shawnee, Okla., and 17 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Fred; three brothers and one sister.
Services for Mrs. Neukirch will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at the Cassoday Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cassoday
Cemetery.

UNRUH, PETE
Pete Unruh, 79, 1015 N. Denver, died Wednesday at Wheatstate Manor, Whitewater. He was born Oct. 2, 1895, at McPherson,
the son of Tobias and Susie Base Unruh.
Mr. Unruh was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Greensburg and Cassoday communities until his retirement.
He moved to El Dorado in 1873. He was a member of the Burns Methodist Church.
On Sept. 7, 1916 he was married to Laura Schmidt at Greensburg.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, of the home, four sons, Chester Unruh, Cassoday, Arthur Unruh, El Dorado, Harry
Unruh, Emporia, Jake Unruh, Broken Arrow, Okla., one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Nuttle, El Dorado, a sister Mrs. Helen
Ferrington, Dodge City, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, LaVerna, four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dietz-Carlson Colonial Chapel. Burial will bein Cassoday Cemetery.
