Agnes N. Wege- Boese, 97, of El Dorado, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at her home. Services are 10 a.m. Friday June 16 at the First Christian Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
She was born March 21, 1909 at St. Mary's the daughter of George and Goldie Adaline (Francis) Aubert. She was a homemaker and had made her home in El Dorado since 1943. Agnes was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, SAMS; HDU, a charter member of Mothers of Twins, and the Grandmother's Club.
On April 29, 1935, she married Herbert Wege and he died April 1, 1973. She later married Andrew Boese on Sept. 28, 1985. He also preceded her in death in September 1988.
Survivors include sons, Lynn E. and Sharon Wege of El Dorado and H. A. Wege Jr and Shirley of Oxford; daughters, Barbara and Ray Boese of Wichita, Ada and Jack Soden of El Dorado and Mary and Ernest Smith of Eureka, Calif.; four step-children, Ray Boese of Wichita, Patricia Ford of Newton, Donald Boese of Texas and Florine Tripp of Jefferson City, Mo.; 34 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Ida Speer; brothers, Francis and Claude, sisters, Ethel and Rena; granddaughter, Rhonda Nelson; and a great-grandchild Sadie Russell.

David C. Wehry, 61, of El Dorado, died Sunday, oct. 31, 1999 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 3 at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. The family will recieve friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Nov. 2 at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1938 at Burns, to Lester Francis and Georgia Lucile (Mann) Wehry. On July 19, 1957, he married Shirley L. Turner at Madison. She survives.
He had lived in El Dorado for the past 36 years, moving from Madison. He was a truck driver and worked in the warehouse for Graves Drug Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served in the National Guard from 1954 to 1956 and then in the Army Reserve from 1956 to 1965.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, James & Kathy Wehry and Charles and Jennifer Wehry both of El Dorado; a daughter and her husband, Audrey and Ronnie Dill of El Dorado, three brothers, Vernon Wehry and Ronald Wehry, both of El Dorado and Kenneth Wehry of Potwin; two sisters, Myrtle Swan of Florence and Frances Buckle of Mountain View, Ark.; five grandsons, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Kenneth P. Wehry, 73, of Potwin, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Burns, Kansas Cemetery.
He was born July 3, 1932, near Burns, the son of Lester Andrew and Georgia Lucille (Mann) Wehry. He spent all his life in Butler and Marion counties. Kenneth had worked in the oil fields on drilling rigs for the City of Burns for five to six years and also was a security guard for the refinery. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and AmVets.
On Aug. 10, 1951, he married Nellie Maye Thomas in El Dorado. She preceded him in death in 1987.
Survivors include: sons, Kenneth A. Wehry and Teddy Joe Wehry, both of El Dorado and Arthur J. Wehry of Theodosa, Mo.; daughter, Beckie Nickelson of El Dorado; brothers, Vernon Wehry and Ronald Wehry, both of El Dorado; sisters, Myrtle Swan of Florence and Frances Buckle of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Victor F. Weilert, 77, Wichita, father of Dr. Allan Weilert of Augusta, died Wednesday July 13, 2005.
There will be a rosary said at 7 p.m. tonight, July 15. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday July 16, 2005 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita.

Nellie M. Whisler, 86, formerly a longtime El Dorado resident, died Monday, Dec. 19 at Villa Maria Nursing Center in Mulvane. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 23 at First Church of the Nazarene, El Dorado. Burial will follow in Towanda Cemetery.
Nellie was born Jan. 9, 1916 in rural El Dorado, the daughter of Mortimer Grant and Lenora (Boomer) Page. She spent most of her life in El Dorado, and worked as a cashier for Farm & City Market for 12 years and then for several more years at Brownes Market. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
On April 18, 1937 she married Roy T. Poe. He died in 1958. She later married Charles Whisler in El Dorado in 1971. He also preceded her in death on June 17, 1996.
Survivors are two sons; Roy Thomas Tom Poe Jr., Wichita; Terry Poe, Mulvane; a daughter; Patty Wright, Eureka; two step-sons; Fred Whisler, El Dorado; Lonnie Joe Whisler, Derby; a brother; Ralph Page, Wichita; two sisters; Marie McAdoo, Springfield, Mo.; Irene Records, Haysville; a sister-in-law Mildred Page, Wichita; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a step-son; a son-in-law; two grandchildren; four brothers; and one sister.

Doyle DeWayne White, 67, of Arkansas City, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. DeWayne's request of no viewing or service is being honored by his family. You are asked to remember him and to get on with life. He was a man who loved life.

Don and Betty Thomas Whiteside are both life long residents of the Potwin Community. Don is the son of Grant and Mary Whiteside and Betty is the daughter of George and Nettie Thomas.
Don and Betty are both graduates of Potwin High School and are active members of the Potwin Christian Church. Don spent four years in the Army during World War II. He received his discharge in December of 1945.
Don and Betty were married February 1, 1947. They have two children, Daniel and Sue. Both children are married. Danny is rural mail carrier for Route 4, El Dorado and Route 1, Potwin. He has one daughter and two step sons. Sue is married to John Yarbrough an assistant division engineer for Santa Fe. They live in Newton and have two sons.
Don has been employed for thirty-seven years by Total Production (formerly Vickers Petroleum Company). Betty is employed by the First National Bank of El Dorado, Kansas.

Don E. Whiteside, 81, of Potwin, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002. Services are 1:30 p.m. .Thursday at the First Christian Church in Potwin with Rick McNary officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in El Dorado. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Bob Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.
He was born Sept. 8, 1921 in Potwin the son of Ulysses Grant Whiteside and Mary Berkinbine. He attended Potwin Grade School and graduated from Potwin High School with the class of 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and Betty Thomas were married Feb. 1, 1947 in Oil Hill. He was a member of the Potwin Christian Church, WIlliam P. Phillips Post No. 65 of the American Legion and the VFW of El Dorado.
Survivors include: wife, Betty of Potwin, son Dan Whiteside of Potwin; daughter, Sue Yarbough of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Pauline Harms of Whitewater; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Potwin and Hospice of Kansas.

Bud Whiteside Dies of Burns
As a result of burns which he sustanined shortly after 8 o'clock Thursday morning July 6, 1944 while at work at the refinery of the Vicker's Petroleum Company, caused the death of John V. (Bud) Whiteside aged 37 years at the Allen Memorial Hospital at 10:30 o'clock Thursday night. He was brought to the hospital immediately after the accident.
The mishap occurred when Mr. Whiteside who was well known in the northwest part of the county, opened a valve. The pressure of steam and hot water was so great that he was scaleded over his body.
"Bud" was born in Fairview TOwnship and had lived in that area and Plum Grove Township until 1930 when he moved to Potwin to make his home. He had been employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company and for the past three years by the Vicker's Company when his death occurred.
His survivors wife, Violet, five sons, Dale, Paul Dean, Jerry Joe, Leis Earl and Rodger Dee; two daughters, Virginia Ann and Phyllis Jean; his mother, Mary Whiteside; two sisters, Pauline Harms and Doris Sharpsteen and a brother Donald Earl who at that time was in the Armed Services in Africa. Violet Wallace and John V. Bud Whiteside were married in 1930. Virginia Ann was born in 1931 and resides in Wichita. She works at Boeing in the executive cafeteria. Dale, born in 1932, and wife, Donna (Broyles) reside in El Dorado. Dale works at Getty. Donna works at Juco Community College. Phylis born in 1934, resides in Elgin, Illinois with husband Carl Olson (a police detective). Paul Dean born in 1936 and wife Marjean live in Leon, Kansas. Paul works as a welder and Marjean drives a school bus for Leon school. Norman Allen born in 1938 deceased in 1938. Joe born in 1939 resides in Potwin with wife barbara and they own Hale Trailer Co. in Wichita. Barbara is a bookkeeper. Lewis born 1941 and wife Cheryl (Crabtree) own G.E. Appliance in El Dorado where both work. they live at Potwin Rt. 1 Rodger born 1943 and two children live in Arvada, Colorado. Rodger works for Denver Tool and Die Co., Kenneth born in 1945 lives in Harrodsburg, Kentucky and wroks in a hospital as an orderly and buys and sells antiques.
John V. Bud was killed in an accident at Vickers Refinery July 1944. Violet and children grew up in Potwin. Violet enjoyes her eight children four daughter in laws two sons in law and 22 great grandchildren very much. (Potwin Centennial 1885-1985, page 176)
Elnora M. "Tiny" Whitson, 74, of El Dorado, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 27, 1926 in Pawnee, Oklahoma., the daughter of Curtis and Retha (Rouse) Cartmell. She grew up in the Latham area. She was united in marriage to Luther M. Whitson. He preceded her in death in 1969. She worked for several nursing homes in the EL Dorado area for 20 years. She also worked in several restaurants. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to all who knew her. She attended the First Pentecostal Church in Wichita.
Survivors include: her mother of El Dorado; a daughter, Retha Whitson of El Dorado; a son, George Whitson of El Dorado; five brothers, Earl Cartmell and Frank Cartmell, both of El Dorado; Eldon Cartmell of Jefferson City, Mo., James Cartmell of Empire, Calif., and Gary Cartmell of Argus, Calif.; three sisters, Lola Knouf, Mary Howard, Martha Howard, all of El Dorado; a half brother, Robert Whitson of Independence; a half sister, Mary Wilson of El Dorado; and grandchildren, George and Sarah Whitson.

Luther M. Whitson, 67, of 608 North Star, a resident of El Dorado since 1946, died at Allen Memorial Hospital Thursday night.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Living Water Chapel with the Rev. Letha Wood, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns cemetery under direction of the Kirby Funeral home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1902, at Stilwell, Okla., and was married to Elnora Maxine Cartmell in El Dorado in 1948. Mr. Whitson was employed by the Sinclair Pipeline company for 15 years as a pipeliner but retired in 1949. He was a member of the Living Water chapel.
Survivors include his wife: three daughters, Mrs. Flo Riley, La Puente, Calif., Mrs. Mary Call of 922 West Kansas, and Miss Retha Whitson of the home; three sons, Eugene White of San Francisco, Calif., Bobby J. Whitson of Joplin, Mo., and George Whitson of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stilwell of Stilwell, Okla., and Mrs. Nancy Salmon of Fresno, Calif., and two brothers, George Whitson of Hutchinson, and Dan Whitson of Carterville, Mo. There are seven grandchildren.

W.K. Ken Whittington, 71, of Potwin, died Friday, July 21, 2006. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Potwin Christian Church.
He was born Feb. 1, 1935 in Lamont, to Emma (Schurter) and Ben Whittington. The family moved to Emporia in 1942 where he attended school graduating in 1953 from Emporia High School. He then furthered his education at Emporia State University where he received a secondary teaching degree in business education.
In 1955 Ken married his high school sweetheart, Jean (Davis), at Emporia. They were blessed with a son, Kelly, and a daughter, Leslie.
Ken and Jean moved to Potwin in 1958 where Ken taught at Potwin Grade School for two years and then at Potwin High School for three years. When the new consolidated high school, Remington High School, was built in 1964, he went to teach and coach there until 1966.
He then worked for King Van Lines as vice president for 13 years until it closed in 1979.
Ken's lifelong dream of being in the gardening business came in 1980 when he was hired to work for Gard-N-Wise in Wichita. He was sales manager until his retirement in 2003.
Ken was one of the Gard-N-Wise Guys on radio for three years and was the Fertilome Man in many commercials before his retirement.
Survivors include: his wife, Jean of the home; son, Kelly and wife Irene of Potwin; daughter, Leslie Krahn and husband Don of Towanda; give grandchildren, Nick Krahn of Lenexa, Megan McCormick and husband Andy of Potwin, Kellie Wartick and husband Matt of El Dorado, Dan Whittington of Potwin and Cari Krahn of Towanda; sister, Martha Schuler and husband Arlyn of Bella Vista, Ark.; and a brother, John Whittington of Kansas City. Marjorie Markee Hull Wike, 85, passed away June 26, 2006 at Hays Medical center in Hays. Services are 2 p[.m. Thursday at the First Christian church, El Dorado. Burial will follow in McGill Cemetery, Potwin.
She was born in rural Potwin, the daughter of the late Edd R. and Edith Case Markee on Aug. 8, 1920. She attended Four-Mile Grade School and graduated from Potwin High School in 1938. She married Hobart S. Hull of Towanda at the Potwin Christian Church parsonage on Nov. 5, 1939. hobart was killed in Okinawa during World War II in may 1945. She married Virgil R. Wike in July 1946. He preceded her in death April 23, 2003.
She lived for 39 years in Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe, Ariz. She retired in April 1983 from Continential Service Corporation of Phoenix, Ariz., and returned to Kansas in May 1986. After Virgil's death she moved to El Dorado where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She moved to Hays on June 6 of this year.
Survivors include her three children, Helen Hull and Sonny Parker of Hays, Virginia Hull and Jim Stricker of Ankeny, Iowa and Vernon R. Wike of Ankeny, Iowa; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers, Arleigh and wife Frances Markee of Newton and Clyde Markee of Wichita Falls, Texas and many relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Arthritis Foundation or the CWF at the First Christian Church, El Dorado.

Nadine Willett, 91, of El Dorado, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. David Weible officiated at the service. Graveside services followed in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Nadine was born Aug. 4, 1914, in Kelly, the daughter of Glen L. and Dessie (Hamlin) Britt. On Feb. 13, 1933 she was married to Vernie E. Willett in Manhattan. On Sept. 5, 1934 she came with her husband to El Dorado. She helped run Vern's Sporting Goods. He later formed Willett Real Estate. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved to garden and spend time with Vern on the farm.
Survivors include: one son, Scotty J. Willett of Independence; one daughter, Karilyn Doll of Chase; one sister, Helen Axelton of Manhattan; 10 grandchildren, Terri Huslig, Mick Doll, Cheryl Stegman, Tami Campbell, Martin Doll, Monte Doll, Debora Weve, David Willett, Bret Willett, Eric Willett; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a kind and helpful friend, Pam Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; one son, Wayne Willett on Jan. 13, 2006; two brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson, Dalton Doll.

Vern Elvin Willett, 77, of Leon, died late Friday evening at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mr. Willett was born October 30, 1910, in Wellington, the son of O. A. and Ida Mae (Huffman) Willett. He was raise din Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School. February 13, 1933, he married Nadine Britt in Manhattan. They came to El Dorado September 5, 1934, Mr. Willett established Vern's Sporting Goods Store which he owned and operated for many years before starting Willet Real Estate Company. He worked in real estate for many years before retiring in 1975. During his earlier years in El Dorado he managed the Safeway store and also was an agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Company. Mr. Willet was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He liked gardening and working on his farm. Mr. Willett was instrumental in forming the first little league baseball and softball leagues in El Dorado.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine; two sons, Wayne E. Willett of El Dorado and Scotty J. Willett of OVerland Park; one daughter, Karilyn Doll of Chase; two sisters, Ruby Jacobs of Plains; and Eva Wyler of Wellington; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents.

Wayne Willett, 67, of El Dorado, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Via Christi. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Monday, Jan. 17 at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 1, 1938, at El Dorado, the son of Vern and Nadine (Britt) Willett. Wayne was a lifelong resident of El Dorado and graduated from El Dorado High School with the class of 1956. He was also a graduate of the Missouri Auction School. He owned and operated Wayne Willett Real Estate and Auction Company since the mid-1960s. He was also an appraiser for his and other real estate companies. Wayne was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church and Patmos Masonic Lodge #97, A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include: son, David Willett of Yuma, Ariz.; brother, Scott Willett of Independence; sister, Karilyn Doll of Chase; and special friends and caregivers, Vicki Shepherd, Brian Shepherd, Gail Shepherd and Adam Shepherd of El Dorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles William "Billy" Arnold Jr., 50, of El Dorado died Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Palmyra.
He was born Jan. 27, 1952 in Wichita, the son of Charles W. and Ruth Loretta (Baker) Arnold Sr. He spent most of his life in this area and owned and operated Arnold Oil Well Service. He served for a time in the National Guard.
He is survived by a son, William Lee Arnold and wife Kimberly; and a daughter, Audra Arnold, both of El Doraod; brother, Don Arnold of Towanda, sisters Reta Cundiff of Towanda and Kathy Sparks of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Homer J. Williams, 87, of rural Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 in Keystone Heights, Fla., at the home of a daughter. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta, with Rev. Jim Akins officiating.
He was born May 22, 1914 to Ralph William and Verna May (Baltimore) Williams in Grenola. He grew up in Grenola and moved to Pickrell Corner, between Augusta and Leon, in 1930.
On May 22, 1941, he was married to Vivian Cruthird. They lived just northeast of Augusta since December 1941. She preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 1999.
Survivors include: daughters, Annavee Duncan and husband Leonard of Branson West, Mo.; Verna Deane Kriner and husband Bill of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charlene Sigley of Keystone Heights, Fla.; sisters, Hope Boyle of Wichita, Micki Barr of El Dorado and Pat Ogden of Larmar, Colo.; grandchildren, Keith Duncan of Billings, Mo., Neil and Kathy Duncan of Springfield, Mo., Wendy and Bert Brinson of Keystone Heights, Fla., Jodi and Mike Schoenfeld of Jacksonville, Fla., Charlie and Jennifer Sigley of Keystone Heights, and Kelly and Kevin Duncan of Panama City, Fla.; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Vivian Marie Williams, 92, of Augusta, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at Augusta Medical Complex, Inc., in Augusta. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta with the Rev. Vern Bowers of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born April 25, 1907 in Leon to Charles and Anna (Sinkhorn) Cruthird. She married Homer Williams. He survives.
She grew up in Leon and graduated from the high school there. She attended Emporia State and then moved to Augusta after her marriage. She was a retired school teacher and taught in Leon, Cottonwood Falls and Augusta.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Augusta.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by Annavee Duncan of Reed Springs, Mo., Verna Deane Kriner of Phoenix, Ariz. and Charlene Sigley of Keystone Heights, Fla.; sister, Virdine Lamb of Newton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Marion Wright, 27 of Latham, died Thursday as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Latham. Burial will follow the services in the Brownlow Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 30, 1956 in Hoisington, the son of Marion Garland and Hattie May Wright. He had lived in the Butler County area all of his life. He had attended schools in both Latham and Leon. He was employed as an oilfield worker with the Brandt Drilling Company.
Survivors include his mother, Hattie of Latham, two brothers, Aaron Bert Wright of El Dorado; and Howard Roy Wright of Haysville, one half-brother, Dean Dale Wright of Seattle; one sister, Margaret Mary Howell of El Dorado; one half-sister, Mrs. Marjorie Fowler of Wichita; and one nephew, Gregory Richard Howell of El Dorado.

Archie Wyman dies
Funeral services are scheduled on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. at Kirby Funeral Home Chapel for Archie C. Wyman, 69, of 826 Walnut who died Friday evening at Allen Memorial Hospital. Burial will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Wyman was born in 1902 in El Dorado and made this city his home for most of his life. He was married to Eleanor Watchus in 1942 in Eureka and was a retired sheet metal worker.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Winnifred DeMent of the home, 3 sons, Raymond of El Dorado, Franklin and Bill of the home; 3 sisters, Mrs. Letha Crumrine of Powell, Wyoming, Mrs. Janet Morris, of Clearwater, Florida, and Mrs. Muriel Brooks of Detroit, Michigan. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held for Archie C. Wyman, 826 N. Walnut, Tuesday at the Kirby Funeral Home Chapel.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Lyle W. Curtis, Church of the Nazarene. Organ selections were played by Mrs. H. W. Bullerdiek. Casketbearers Joe Egan, Jay Redburn, Bill Kunkle, Dick Clark, Virgil Gooding, and Dick Lockhart.

Edythe G. Wyman, 88, of El Dorado, formerly of Eureka, died at the Knutson Manor Nursing Home in El Dorado Monday, September 28, 1998. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday October 1, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with the Rev. Alan Hunter pastor of the Jefferson St. Baptist church of Eureka, officiating.
She was born March 8, 1910 at Olmitz to Ernest and Bertha Peach Bittner. She was raised in the Olmitz and Hoisington cummunity in Barton Co. and attended school there.
On Dec. 25, 1936 she married Curtis Lester Wyman at Augusta. They lived in Hoisington area for a short time before moving to Charleston, S.C. during WWII where Curtis was a ship builder.
Following the war, they moved to Eureka to make their home and she worked as a nurse aide for the Greendwood Co., Hospital and area nursing homes. Curtis preceded her in death Nov. 26, 1963, Edythe remained in Eureka until moving to El Dorado in 1983.
She is survived by a son Jack Wyman and his wife Pamela of Fort Worth Collins, Colorado and a daughter Diane Wyman and former son in law William Buzz Ledford of El Dorado, four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Woman arraigned in Shooting
Melba Wyman, 32, was arraigned, Wednesday, in Butler County on a charge of 2nd degree murder in connection with the shooting death of her husband, Raymond C. Wyman, a truck driver at their Route 1 home early Wednesday. A preliminary hearing on the case was set for Friday, March 29. She was released on $5,000 bond. She is being represented by
Attorney Allyn McGinnis.
Wyman's body was found in the bathroom of the home by sheriff officers investigating two calls from a woman saying she had shot her hsuband and was requesting an ambulance. Wyman had been shot three times in the chest and one time each in the right leg, neck and mouth. Apparently with a .22 caliber pistol found at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
According to officers the shooting apparently occurred during a domestic quarrel. Several children were home at the time and statements were taken from them Wednesday morning. (El Dorado Times, Thursday, March 21, 1974)
Services Set for Raymond
Raymond C. (Butch) Wyman, 26, Route 1, died Wednesday at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kirby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Wyman was born June 3, 1947 in El Dorado. He married Mable Farris October 31, 1968 in El Dorado. He was employed by the International Cold Storage Co., in Wichita as a truck driver. He was a vet of the Vietnam War having served in the Navy.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother (Mrs. Eleanor) Wyman, 826 N. Walnut; one daughter Lorene and one son, Raymond A. both of the home, three step-daughters, Dorothy Fowler, Patricia Fowler and Sherrie Farris all of the home and one step-son Charles Fowler of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Winnifred DeMent of San Diego, Calif., Arlene Wyman, 826

Raymond Wyman former El Dorado Resident Dies
Raymond R. Wyman, 62, a former resident of El Dorado died Friday at Wichita.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Devorsgard Mortuary in Wichita, with additional services at 3 p.m. Monday at the First Souther Baptist Church in El Dorado. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Wyman was born at El Dorado, June 18,1904. He moved to Wichita in 1944 andwas employed there by the Tomlin Painting Company. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Mildred, a brother Archie Wyman of El Dorado and four sisters, Mrs. Florence Barr of 521 S. High St., Mrs. Letha Crumrine of Powell, Wyo., and Mrs. Muriel Brooks & Mrs. Janet Morris both of Detroit, Mich. (El Dorado Times, April 15, 1967)
