| OBIT: Death of Ben Bogardus is Recorded - Word has been received of the recent death of Ben Bogardus which occurred
at the hotel in which he lived in Los Angeles, Calif. With the exception of service in World War One, Mr. Bogardus
had lived in Los Angeles since he left El Dorado soon after his graduation from El Dorado High School in 1910.
Mrs. Ralph Wiley (Bernice Benson) who was an E. H. S. classmate received notice of his death. Mr. Bogardus was
a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bogardus. The father owned and managed a bakery in the second block of West Central
avenue for years. After release from military service, Ben Bogardus became a police judge in Los Angeles and later
became a well-known stock banker in that city. His only survivor is a step-daughter, Muriel Edwards of Klamath
Falls, Oregon. Although he had not visited in El Dorado for years, Mr. Bogardus kept in touch with his El Dorado
classmates. he and the late Oscar Morgan were mutually delighted when Mr. Morgan happened to stop at the same hotel
at which Mr. Bogardus was a resident, and they enjoyed recalling their boyhood days here. (El Dorado Times, July
