F 20 Iowa Vol Inf March 27, 1862 March 9, 1900 Cherokee County Republican Mrs. Stephen Beach an old resident of Baxter, died at his home in the north part of town last Friday (March 7), afternoon and was buried Sunday at 11 a.m. under the auspices of the Grand Army. Stephen A. Beach was born March 27th, 1826 at Bristol, New York, when a child his parents moved near Rockford, Ill where February 25th, 1855 he married Susan A. Rutledge by whom he leaves seven children; two sons, and five daughters. His wife died at Gettysburg, Granhan Co., Oct. 19th, 1879. On June 17th, 1882 at Edmond Norton County he was married to Mrs. Mary A. Hirst whom with two children are now left to mourn his death. He enlisted in Co. F 20th Iowa Infantry August 21st, 1862. Was discharged at Marine Hospital, New Orleans, June 19th, 1865. I wish to thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted during the sickness and death of my husband. Mrs. Mary A. March 19, 1825, Indiana February 24, 1904   Died in Lyon Township, Kansas Section 6 - Baxter Springs Cemetery Hogan, James Co. F 8th Iowa Vol. Inf. 1839 November 17, 1909 Cherokee County Republican James Hogan aged 70 yeasrs who resided in the east part of the city died last Wednesday of dropsy, after a lingering illness. He was an old soldier and member of Baxter Post No 123. The funeral was held last Saturday. Section P4 - Baxter Springs Cemetery Leslie, Thomas Co. D 15th Iowa Inf. October 1, 1819 October 17, 1891     Section G3 - Baxter Springs Cemetery McAlerney, Joseph P. Co. E 2 Iowa v. Cav. August 15,1 843 July 7, 190?     Section G1 - Baxter Springs Cemetery Strait, William Co. A 34th Reg. Iowa; Discharged Houston, Texas August 15, 1865 1826 November 24, 1896 Cherokee County Republican W. D. Strait was born April 16, 1827 in Essex Co., N. J. he lived in Baxter Springs for about 10 years. Buried under the auspices of the Grand Army of the Republic. Soldiers Lot - Baxter Springs Cemetery Strow, John A. Co. D 9th Iowa Vol. Cav. April 10, 1846 March 26, 1908     Section C2 - Baxter Springs Cemetery Wright, Larman Z. Pvt. Co. E 23 Reg. Iowa Vol. Inf. 1835 January 4, 1900 Cherokee County Republican Larmon Wright died January 4 of Dropsy, age 65.
