John Pierson, born March 28, 1830, died 19, 1908, aged 78 years, 7 months and 21 days. Mr. Pierson had been ill a long time with heart trouble and paralysis. He was married in 1854 to Clarissa Hermann and seven children were born to the couple all of whom, together with the widow are left to mourn the taking off of Mr. Pierson. Comrade Pierson served his country during the Civil War from 1861 to 1864, when he was discharged. He was a good citizen, a consisstent christian and his future there is no doubt. Funeral services were held at the home in the south part of the city on the 20th, Inst. conducted by W. A. A. Doty, under the auspices of the Grand Army of which Mr. Pierson was an honored member.
