KETTNER, JULIUS OTTO GOTTLIEB

Olpe Man Dies

Julius Otto Gottlieb Kettner, 77, died at 4:10 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home southwest of Olpe. He had been sick for three months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o"clock in the Roberts-Blue Funeral chapel, followed by services at 2 o'clock in the Zion Lutheran church west of Olpe. Rev. E. Heidron, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran cemetery west of Olpe.

Mr. Kettner was a farmer for 50 years. He was born in Brandenburg, Germany, November 23, 1862, and came to Kansas in 1895. He married Martha Bohre February 12, 1889, at Cedar Rapids, Ioaw. Mrs. Kettner died at Olpe December 21, 1938.

Surviving are six sons, William Kettner, Buckley, Ill.; Otto Kettner, Lawrence; Walter Kettner, Olpe; George Kettner, Nortonville; Julius Kettner, Madison, and Gus Kettner, Emporia, and three daughters, Mrs. Walter Schroeder, Olpe; Mrs. Benjamin Schroeder, Emporia; and Mrs. E. H. Wagner, Los Angeles, Calif. Twelve granddaughters, 15 grandsons, and five great grandchildren also survive. Mr. Kettner was a member of the Lutheran church.

The Kettner Funeral

Funeral services for Julius Otto Gottlieb Kettner, who lived southwest of Olpe, and who died Saturday afternoon, were Tuesday afternoon. Services were held at 1 o'clock in the Roberts-Blue Funeral chapel and at 2 o'clock in the Zion Lutheran church west of Olpe, Rev. E. Heidron, pastor of the church, conducted both services. The singing was by the congregation. Burial was in Zion Lutheran cemetery.

The pallbearers, all sons of Mr. Kettner, were William, Otto, Walter, George, J. C. and Gus Kettner.
Out-of-town relatives who came for the funeral were George Kettner, of Nortonville, and William Kettner, of Buckley, Ill.

Olpe Woman Dies

Olpe, Dec 22- Mrs. Julius Kettner, who lived southwest of Olpe, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock at her home.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Services also will be at 2 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran Church, southwest of Olpe. Rev. Mr. Heidron, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Kettner formerly was Martha Maria Bohre. She was born November 24, 1866, in Danzig, Germany, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Bohre. She moved to Anderson County in 1895, and was married to Julius Kettner on February 12, 1889 in Iowa County, IA. Mrs. Kettner was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Walter Schroeder, of Olpe; Mrs. Benjamin Schroeder, of Emporia, and Mrs. E. H. Wagner, of Los Angeles, Calif.; six sons, William Kettner, of Buckley, Ill,; Otto Kettner and Walter Kettner, both of Olpe; George Kettner of Nortonville; Julius Kettner, of Madison, and Gustave Kettner, of Emporia; and 12 granddaughters, 15 grandsons, and five great grandchildren.

Olpe, Dec 24- Funeral services for Mrs. Julius Kettner, who died Wednesday at her home southwest of Olpe, were held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral home. Services also were held at 2 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Mr. Heidron, pastor of the church, conducted the services. The church congregration sang.

Death of J. E. Rathke, Sr.

J. E. Rathke, who had been sick with heart trouble for some time, died at 5 o'clock Morning
morning, at his home southwest of town. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. K. T.
Doemskeat Rosenberg Church, 3 p.m. Tuesday and interment madein the Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Rathke was sixty years of age and leaves a large family.

J.E. Rathke, died at 4 o'clock this morning at his home, five miles southwest of Olpe. Mr.
Rathke was 60 years old and had been sick for sometime. The funeral services will be held
from the Lutheran church south of Olpe, tomorrow afternoon, at 3 o'clock. Rev. Doemske will
conduct the services.
