HUTCHINSON

An incorporated city with a population of 2,500, is the county seat of Reno County and is situated on Cow Creek, near the Arkansas River, in the northeastern part of the county. It is a station and important shipping point on the A., T. & S. F. R. R., 218 miles from Atchison, 168 from Topeka and 234 from Kansas City, Mo. It contains Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic and Baptist Churches, a good public school building, a brick court house, 2 banks, 3 weekly newspapers, the Interior, the Herald and the News, a grain eelevator, several flour mills, hotels, etc. A large quantity of railroad lands are for sale in this county at from $4 to $8 per acre.
