Valley Falls.--Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hagge Funeral Home here for Clarence L. Jones, 64, formerly of Valley Falls, who died Sunday at his home at Los Angeles, Calif. Burial will be Valley Falls Cemetery. He was born March 29, 1901, at Denison. He lived in Valley Falls and Kansas City before moving to Los Angeles 19 years ago. He was employed in Los Angeles by Northrup Aircraft Company. He was a member of First Christian Church at Valley Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leona Jones, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Appleton, Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Sloan, Kansas City, Mo.; and two granddaughters. (The Topeka Daily Capital, Thursday, May 27, 1965, transcribed by Jim Laird)
BAKER, CHARLES
Atchison - Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stanton Mortuary here for Charles Baker, 68, Lancaster, who died Monday in a Kansas City, Mo., hospital where he had been a patient eight weeks. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery at Atchison.
He was a retired grocer and locker plant operator at Lancaster. He was a director of the Lancaster State Bank, a former member of the Lancaster City Council and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the IOOF Lodge at Lancaster.
Survivors include a stepson, Dr. Wade Elliott, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, George Baker, Maywood, Calif.; and four sisters, Mrs. May Haller, Maywood, Calif., Mrs. J.E. Lyndon.--Services for Catherine T. Wassmer, 62, Lyndon, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Osage City. Graveside services will be a 1 p.m. Thursday at Scipio Cemetery north of Garnett in Anderson County. She died Monday at an Emporia hospital.
She was born Nov. 19, 1902, near Garnett, the daughter of Herman Wassmer and Margaret Hoelscher Wassmer, she lived at Ottawa from 1920 to 1929 and was an employee of the Franklin County Register of Deeds. Since 1929, she lived a Lyndon where she was an abstractor with Osage County Abstracting Company.
She was a charter member of the Business and Professional Women's Club at Lyndon and was a member of Sewing Club and American Legion Auxillary.
Survivors include a brother, John Wassmer, Garnett;
and two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Plain, and Mrs. Mary Hart, both of Garnett.
Memorial contributions may be made to Business and Professional Women's Club, Lyndon.

Effingham -Mrs. Catherine Tibbetts Davis, 55, died Saturday in an Atchison hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 29, 1910, at Verden, Okla., and had been an Effingham resident for 25 years.
Mrs. Davis was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church here.
Survivors include her husband, S.A. Davis, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy E. Colton, Woodland Hill, Calif.; Alexis Kay Davis, of the home; a stepson, Lonnie James, of the home; a brother, E.W. Brock, Dallas.

Holton - Carrie L. Peck, 93, Holton, died Wednesday at a hospital here.
She was born Nov. 11, 1871 at Holton where she spent all her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Holton.
Two cousins, Mrs. Marie Burke, Mission, and Mrs. Isabel Pomeroy Crosby, La Jolla, Calif., survive.

She lived in Pittsburg, Kan., before moving to Osage City three years ago.

Mrs. Anna Hagge Dies in St. Joseph
Valley Falls - Mrs. Anna Hagge, 81, Valley Falls, died Wednesday at a St. Joseph, Mo., convalescent center.
She was born May 5, 1884, at Schleswig, Germany, and moved to Iowa with her parents when she was a year old. She lived on a farm northeast of Everest in Brown County from 1907 until seven years ago when she moved to Valley Falls. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was married to George Hagge in 1907. He died in 1950. A son, Melvin, died in 1933.
Survivors include two sons, A.J. Hagge, Laguna Beach, Calif., and Albert F. Hagge, Valley Falls; a sister, Mrs. Aganna Ankrum, Marshalltown, Iowa, and a brother, John Hoop, Marshalltown, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Mollie May Klugg, 88, formerly of 1105 Western,
died Friday at the Methodist Home for the Aged. She had lived there for the past nine months.
She was born April 4, 1877, in Trenton, Mo.
Mrs. Klugg was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Dodge City.
Survivors include a son, Sterling C. Klugg, 1221 W. 11th; and three grandchildren.

Oskaloosa - Mrs. Minnie Bryant, 66, died of an apparent heart attack early Monday at her home here.
She was born July 25, 1898 at Edwardsville.
Mrs. Bryant was a member of the AME Church here.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Bryant, of the home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the AME church here with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery.

L. Waggoner Is Dead at 74
Oskaloosa - Leslie M. Waggoner, 74, Oskaloosa, died Sunday at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester.
He was born Nov. 5, 1890 in Jewell County, and had owned and operated a lumber yard here for 40 years.
Mr. Waggoner was a member of the Methodist Church, the Rotary Club, AF&AM Lodge No. 14, Royal Arch Chapter No. 9, and OES No. 62, all of Oskaloosa. He was also a member of the Zabut Council No. 4 in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cecil Waggoner of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lonnie Moffitt, Oskaloosa; one son, Gene, Nauvoo, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Gibbs, 2412 Edgewater Terrace, Topeka; and four grandchildren.

John White, Scranton, Dies
Scranton.--John William White, 79-year-old Scranton farmer, died at his home Monday morning.
Born Nov. 16, 1885 in Scranton, he had been a lifelong resident there.
He was a member of the Covenant Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Russell, of the home.

Irl Baker, 78, Ozawkie, Dies
Ozawkie - Irl Baker, 78, died Friday at his home here.
He was born Sept. 20, 1886 near Ozawkie and spent all his life in the Ozawkie community. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Ozawkie. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Baker, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. M.E. Evans, 2117 Van Buren, Topeka, Mrs. Ray BREY, Whiting, Mrs. E. Wayne Brunton, Raytown, Mo., and Mrs. Dorothy Gerber, 115 N. Elmwood, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Marker, 1613 Boswell, Topeka, and Mrs. Edith Whtie, Lawrence; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the EUB
