COVER CROP CAMPAIGN IN CALLOWAY COUNTY SUCCESS
MURRAY, KY., September 21-
Steady progress is being made in the cover crop campaign which Calloway County farmers are conducting in cooperation with the extension division of the college of agriculture at Lexington for the purpose of protecting their fields from erosion and leaching during the winter. They have adopted the slogan: " Every acre of tobacco land sown to a cover crop ". A number of acres of tobacco land in the county already are planted with some crop that preventy washing. Farmers who have never grown such crop before are putting practically all of their cultivated fields in some such crop that prevents washing and saves plant food.
