JAMES B. HAY,

FORMER SHERIFF OF CALLOWAY COUNTY,IS DEAD

Relatives in the city have received messages announcing the death of James B. Hay, at his home in Murray. Mr Hay was the father of H. E. Hay, 429 East Maxwell Street, and Mrs. Zeb N. Stewart 668 Elsmere Park. He was formerly sheriff of Calloway County, for many years was engaged in the lumber business and various other business enterprises, and was a successful business man. He retired from active business some years ago and has been in bad health for the past four years. He was an officer and active member of the Christian Church, and took an active interest in all civic and public matters. He is survived by his widow who was a daughter of Judge William Browne, and the following children: H.E. Hay, and Mrs Zeb A. Stewart, Lexington, Miss Virginia Hay, teacher in the Murray High School: Mrs. Ruth Hay Diuguid, Frances Hay, James B. Hay Jr., all of Murray and Elmo G. Hay, San Antonio, Texas. The funeral and burial will be at Murray Thursday.
