James Cordy Bowling, 91 of Hopkinsville KY died Friday 5 Mar 1943 in the home of his daughter Mrs George M Clark. Born in Christian Co KY 30 Jul 1852 he wa the s/o Jesse W and Louisa (Kesterson) the last survivor of his family. He taught school and later was in the grocery businessin Crofton KY where he lived for 50 years. Member of the Universalist Church. Married Victoria CROFT who died more than 20years ago. Survivors: Daughters Mrs J H Weis of Chicago, Mrs J Mack Croft of Crofton, Mrs Clark of Hopkinsville. Grandson James Edmund Croft and 3 grandaughters. Hazel Milam
Services for Hazel Milam, 85, West Seventh Street, Hopkinsville, KY, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at Lamb Funeral Home with Michael Ladd officiating. Burial was in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
She died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Christian Health Center following a long illness.
A native of Stewart County, she was born March 30, 1923, the daughter of the late Radford and Blanche Harris Chandler. She was a training operator and supervisor at many garment factories and retired at Decaturville Manufacturing. Her husband, W.C. Milam, Decaturville, TN, died in 1994. Survivors include a son, James Warner Harrison, Joelton, TN; two daughters, Mrs. Archie (Joyce) Wells, Christian County, Mrs. Jerry (Sandy) Deason, Hopkinsville; three sisters, Lucille Suitor, Woodlawn, TN, Marie Peacher, Indian Mound, June Smith, Rogersville, MO. Three stepsons, Mike Milam, Tullahoma, TN, Jeff Milam, Decaturville, TN, Mark Milam, Savannah, TN, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren

Sarah Alzadia (Greshem) Kenady

20 Mar 1866 (Hopkinsville, Christian, Kentucky, USA) - 30 Dec 1928 (Muscotah, Atchison, Kansas, USA)

Mrs. J. W. Kenady, 62, died Sunday morning at the Kenady home in Muscotah. Her death was attributed to dropsy, which had troubled her for the past 11 weeks, but she had been bedfast only the past four weeks. Mrs. Kenady had been a resident of Muscotah the last six years, having come there with her husband from Hopkinsville, *Tenn., where they were married in 1890 and were Mrs. Kenady was born. Besides Mr. Kenady, six children survive. Mr. and Mrs. Kenady's only son died while serving in the navy during the World War. The six daughters living are: Mrs. W. A. Mann of Atchison, Mrs. Dan Stanley of Horton, Mrs. M. F. Martin of Towanda, Mrs. Albert Lang of Powhattan, Mrs. W. H. Anderson of Muscotah and Mrs. D. L. Schoonover, of Arkansas City. Twenty-three grandchildren also survive. The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, January 1, at the Congregational church in Muscotah with Rev. R. N. Hillyer in charge. Martha Paralee Fields   1 Sep 1928 - 8 Jun 2007

Age 78 , died Friday, June 8, 2007 in Saline, Michigan, after a long year of fighting many illnesses. Martha was known to her friends as Paralee. She was born September 1, 1928 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  On March 9, 1945, she married Iley C. Fields Sr. in Henderson County, KY and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1995. Martha and Iley moved to Detroit in 1951 and in 1958 they moved to Ypsilanti. Paralee lived in Chelsea from 1997 until 2002, when she moved to Canton to be closer to her daughter, Nicole. In 2006, when Nicole could no longer take care of her at home, she moved to the Saline Evangelical Home.  Paralee was a graduate of Cleary Business College. She worked as an accountant at an auto dealership, and later as chef in the executive kitchen for Ford Motor Co., until leaving to become a stay-at-home mom for her daughter, Nicole. Paralee was an avid reader, and loved to read true crime books. She was an excellent cook, and fed anyone who came to visit. She was known to all her children’s friends as "Mom". Paralee always told you the honest truth, in her loving way, and you knew you were part of the family when Mom told you what she thought. She also loved her toy poodle, Frankie.  Survivors include two sons, Iley C. Fields, Jr. of Canton, and Andrew B. (Tosha) Fields of Chelsea; one daughter, Nicole R. (Ernie) Fields of Canton, a sister, Louise Santimaria (Tony) of Hopkinsville, KY; a cousin, Frank (Shirley) Knight of Locust Grove, GA; many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Morris; her brother, Charles "Kayo" Knight; a nephew, Tommy Stokes; and daughter-in-law, Suzy Estey Fields.  The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Saline Evangelical Home for the loving care they gave her. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway Suite 250, Dallas, TX  75244.
