COUNTY HISTORY

Was formed from Ohio County. It was created on 14 Jan 1815.

No records were lost in a courthouse fire on 4 Jan 1865.

Owensboro is the seat of Daviess county, and was laid out in 1816 and named for Colonel Abraham Owen.
