Three Youths Burn to Death in Oil Blaze
Are Trapped when a Spark From Machinery Ignites Well Being Drilled in Three Men
Hurt - Believed All of Them Will Die; Accident Happens Near Owensboro, Ky.
Owensboro, Ky, July 12 - Three boys were burned to death today and three men
were burned probably fatally when an oil rig caught fire on a farm near here,
late last night.
The dead are:
James Crowe, aged 12 years, Matt Crowe, aged 13, and Elmer Fuqua, aged 13 years.
The right caught fire after the well was shot and oil began to flow. It was
believed a spark from the machinery ignited the gas and oil. The boys were
watching the operations at the rig at the time they were burned to death. (El
