
BODY TAKEN TO INDIANA.
MT. STERLING. Ky.. July 28.—The body of Norman Engleman, clerk at the National Hotel, who died here suddenly Sunday night of acute indigestion, was taken to his home at Georgetown, Ind. today. Engleman was ill only a few hours.
FATALLY SHOT IN A FIGHT.
MAYSVILLE. Ky.. July 28.—During a fight over a trifling matter Jerry Thomas this afternoon fatally shot Henry Wilburn. Roth had been drinking when the difficulty occurred. Thomas was arrested and is in jail.
Married In Lexington.
Mr. John Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ibzan Powell, of this city, and Miss Maggie Hopper were married yesterday In Lexington
Dies in Chicago.
Miss Annah Grissim has just received a telegram announcing the death in Chicago of her brother-in-law, Mr. W. B. Gano, whose death occurred after an operation. Mr. Gano is very well known in Central Kentucky, having married Miss Nettie Grissim, of Georgetown, and having been a frequent visitor here. He will be laid to rest by the side of his wife at Dallas, Tex., where he was a prominent attorney.
MT. STERLING. Ky.. July 28.—
While riding at Paintsville today George Chandler, 65 years old. was thrown from his horse, which fell on him, injuring him so badly he will die. Mr. Chandler Is the rather of D. J. Chandler, of this city, who left immediately to be with him.
Slain Negro Is Buried
The body of Charles Jackson, the negro who was killed yesterday morning at Sims' construction camp near this city, was buried in the potters field last night.
The negro who killed Jackson has not been apprehended.
Todd Formerly of Winchester,
Reuben B. Todd, who was killed at Irvine, presumably by a woman, was a nephew of Messrs. W. C., C. B., T. N and B. M Todd, of this city, and formerly lived here. He was a well known merchant of Irvine at the time he was killed. The body was buried last night at that place.
Mrs. Browne is Prostrated.
Prostrated by the untimely death of her son. Henry Prewitt Browne, the mother not able to accompany the body to this city. Dr. M S Browne, accompanied by Mr. Robert Monroe, left today to be with her A large number of friends met the noon train today when the body arrived from Oxford. Miss . where the young man was killed in a baseball game.
Funeral services at the grave In the Winchester Cemetery today at 2.30 o'clock were in charge of Rev J R. Crawford.
The pall bearers were. Chas. P. Bedford, Robert Taylor, Emmett H. Morrow, Joe Jackson, Thomas Evans. Clay Thompson and James Hunt Barrow
Honorary pallbearers were Winston Prewitt Tom Proctor, Joseph Tanner, Zack Brown. Vernon Haggard, Omah Burke and Benjamin Prewitt
Mrs. J TV Chambers, a half-sister, who went to Mississippi, when she learned of the accident, is with the stricken mother,
A half-brother. Dr. Isaac H. Browne, also survives
Says William Gibson Shot Him.
A message came today from William Copland, Chief of Police, of Cincinnati, stating: that Will Lee, a negro, who is in a hospital there has stated that he was shot by William Gibson, alias "James Rags" at Johnson & Briggs camp No 2 near this city Lee was shot yesterday, but was unable to tell who had fired the shot when he was taken from here on a cot to Cincinnati.
