PAYTON CEMETERY

According to Rebecca S. (Payton) Herlien the large, old oak that is in the
center of the cemetery was actually planted on the top of Doc Payton's gravesite
many years ago. The cemetery is registered at the Grayson County courthouse as
the Payton Cemetery, the land for the cemetery was donated to the county by my
Great-Grandfather, Walter Payton. The name of the road that leads to the
cemetery is called Payton Schoolhouse Rd.
