Louisville Aug 2 The Courier Journals Nashville Tenn. Special says Tilha Wallace and Stephen Massey, of Harrison county, accompanied by John Galvin, eloped and were married at Aberdeen.  Galvin then got drunk rode through the streets flourishing his pistol and shot Tobe Hawkins through the stomach, killing him.  
Much excitement and considerable talk about lynching.

Isaac B. Desha

The third trial of Isaac B. Desha for the murder of Francis Baker, came on to the Harrison Circuit Court on Friday, the 17th ult.  The Tuesday following, not one juryman having been obtained, the trail was postpones till the next court. - Pittsburg Mercury. [Submitted by Nancy Piper; March 2010]


At Claysville, Ky., Ike Williams shot and killed Henry Ward (both colored) during a quarrel over ten cents.
