SETTLE DIFFERENCE BY PLAY OF GUNS
Brother-in-Law of Jim Howard Killed by William McCullom in Kentucky
LONDON. Ky., May 6.
News was received here of the death Monday in Clay county of Sid Baker, brother-in-law of James Howard, recently tried for the murder of William Goebel. His death was the result of a duel on the highway with William McCollum. As soon as they met Baker slipped from his horse and fired at McCollum twice without hurting him. McCollum then shot Baker in the abdomen.   Baker's grudge against McCollum is supposed to have arisen from the fact that McCollum had been summoned as a witness against Howard, though he had not been put on the stand.
