FIVE YEARS AGO

 Mrs. Ammye B. Carver died at her home on Campbell street.

The body of a colored man was found by two small boys In a ravine at the rear of the S. E. Rice Tobacco Factory. Death was attributed to a skull fracture.

 

 TEN YEARS AGO
 Wilbert and Herschel Martin were killed In an auto accident near Hopkinsville. Three other members of the family were lnjured.

Thelma Lee Parson, 23. was killed when hit by a truck at Beech Creek.

  

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

Mrs. Effie Payne, serving a life sentence for the slaying of her husband at Central City, died in the penitentiary at Frankfort.

 

TWENTY YEARS AGO

The Citizens Union Bank of Central City was robbed of $2000 in silver by five unmasked men.

Thomas McGowan. cashier, was taken from his home at gun point late at night and forced to open the vault.
