Mrs. Estill Milligan Dies of Injuries

    An accident 5.3 miles north of Bowling Green, Kentucky on U.S. Rt. 231 claimed the life of Mrs. Estill Milligan, 49, of Hartford, yesterday.  Mrs. Milligan died of injuries sustained in a head-on collision with an automobile driven by Robert E. Hawley, 20, 9f 1301 Cedar Street, Owensboro, a student at Western Kentucky State College.  Hawley lost control of his car on the rain slick road and crossed the center line into the path of the Milligan car.

    Hawley was admitted to the Bowling Green-Warren County hospital for treatment of a broken jaw.  Milligan also was admitted.  Both men are listed as fair.

    Survivors other than her husband are: one son, Dane Milligan, of Rt. 3 Hartford, one daughter, Miss Linda Kay Milligan at home, two grandchildren and three nieces and nephews.  State Trooper Jack Patterson was the investigating officer.
 


MAN ARRAIGNED ON FOUR COUNTS

    On September 17th, Wallace Whitfield was arraigned before Judge Carisle Oldham on four counts.  He was charged with assault and battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, giving liquor to another in a local option territory, and permitting a minor to play pool without written consent of his parents and necessary identification.

    Okie Daniel Carden was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.  He was fined $100.00 plus cost.

    Those cited for public drunkness were: Avery Blackburn Jr. who was fined $5.00 plus cost, Edward Martan who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 days in jail. Charles Bellamy also pleaded guilty to public drunkness and was turned over to the probation officer.

    Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tinsley, Whiting, Indiana visited his uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Carter over the weekend.

    Mrs. Austin Austin Caudle and daughter, Peggy Lynn, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky were dinner guest Saturday of her mother, Mrs. George Barnes.

    Weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Carl Hill, 429 South Main, were Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Carl Hill and daughter, Terry Lynn of Elizabethtown Ky.  Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Henry and daughter, Robin, of Owensboro, Ky.  Also Mr. and Mrs. George Sandefur, city.

    Mrs. Edith Kelly, Mrs. Alice Daniel and Mrs. Carlton Daniel were guest Monday of Mr. and Mrs. John Daniel, Sheree and Marian, of Hartford.  Afternoon guest was Mrs. Glyndean Hazelrigg of Hartford.

    Mrs. A. C. Sutherlin, 727 West Fourth St. was hostess to the Goshen Homemakers Club, September 9.

    Mr. and Mrs. William T. Erwin and children, 907 Broad St. moved September 8 to Snyder, Tex.  Mr. Erwin was employed at the Ohio County Hospital as the anaesthetic and he will continue the same line of work in Texas.

    Miss Barbara Kitchens is visiting her sister, Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Lee Brown, Jr. and son in San Antonio, Texas.

    Several young people left Sunday for Bowling Green where they will enter college as Freshman Monday 13.  They are Miss Suzanne Eskridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Filb
