“TRIXIE”

-------------

“He was only a Shepherd doggie,
And because he couldn't talk,
He told the boys he loved them
By his tail wags and his bark.

“His owner wanted him at home
To tend his stock and farm.
He wanted more to live with us,
And keep our boys from harm.

“Although his owner tied him
And fed him extra food,
He slipped away to Bethany
Each time he found he could.

“And so he lived at Bethany
For fifteen years or more.
He went to school for several years
And lay there by the door.

“He reached the age of twenty
But still could see and hear.
One night some dogs attacked him,
And he no more is here.

“He served his place as watchdog
As best as he knew how,
And so we all have missed him,
Since he isn't with us now.”

SPRING REVIVAL SHOWERS

---------

April 13-24 marked the date of our revival. There were numerous prayer meetings. Some of the meetings were early in the morning, others after dinner, while others were in the evening. Many prayed in secret, but God's promise was truly verified, “He will reward these openly.”

Everyone who would open his heart wide and give the Holy Spirit entrance was helped, blessed, and strengthened.

Rev. Walter Markham of Porterville, California, was our evangelist. His messages were scriptural, easily understood, and contained the freshness which the anointing of the Holy Spirit gives. We truly rejoice over the many who have found Jesus as Lord and Saviour here at Bethany. We pray that each one will be true to the Lord and go on to greater victories in Him.

NEW GLANCES

(Continued from Page Three)

Elaine Joy Markel, who was born Wednesday, June 1, in the Bethany hospital. Her parents are Rev. and Mrs. Harold Markel. Mrs. Markel was formerly a worker here at Bethany. Also to be congratulated are Rev. and Mrs. Ronald Mosher upon the birth of a son, Robert Dale, on June 2. We extend our best wishes to these families, and to the little ones we give a warm welcome with God's blessings.

For all of these new additions we are grateful. Each and every one truly has its place. Without exception we all owe thanks unto God for His many considerations.

In our endeavor to acquaint Bethany friends with the financial transactions and status of the Home, we submit the following report for the quarter. Any questions regarding the same will be gladly answered.
