County History Its county seat is Versailles. The county is named for General William Woodford, who was with General George Washington at Valley Forge.
Woodford County is home to Woodford Reserve, the Kentucky Bourbon manufactured at the Labrot & Graham Distillery, which was established in 1812 and is the oldest Bourbon distillery in Kentucky.
