September 12, 1872
Robert Eugene DeFrance, age two years and one month, died at Midway, La. on August 20 in the early may-morn of his existence. He was the son of Parke W. and Laura DeFrance.

Times Picayune July 21, 1914

 Shreveport, La., July 20. – Mrs. F. L. Shaw of Winnfield, wife of the former sheriff of Winn, died at a Shreveport sanitarium early this morning. Death resulted from an operation. The funeral will take place at Winnfield Tuesday. Mrs. Shaw died on her thirty-ninth birthday. Her husband, son and daughter and other relatives survive her.submitted by Marla Zwakman

 Shreveport, La., March 9. – Herman Linman, aged 83 years, an Odd Fellow and Mason, and pioneer citizen, died at his home here today. He is survived by his wife and one son, Henry.submitted by Marla Zwakman

Shreveport, La., Feb. 11. – A message was received today by E. J. Flannagan announcing the death in Salt Lake City, Utah, of his son, W. G. Flannagan, formerly a resident of Shreveport. submitted by Marla Zwakman

 



Nine Barksdale Flyers Killed

Names of six of the nine Barksdale Field flyers killed late Thursday when a giant four motored bomber exploded and crashed near Deberry, TX, 30 miles southwest of Shreveport, were announced by post officials Friday.  The plane was on a routine training flight when the explosion occurred.  The plane fell in a wooded section near Deberry on the George Yates farm, three miles south of the town and four and a half miles from Latex.  Several persons reported seeing the plane plying at low Altitude and said that a few minutes later they heard an explosion and saw part of the plane falling.  All on board the plane were killed
