Mr. and Mrs. Ulysses G. Morrow marked Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ulysses G. Morrow 2625 North Roman Street celebrated their golden anniversary Thursday. Their married life has been "50 years of smooth sailing" the couple said. Residents of New Orleans for 13 years, Mr. and Mrs. Morrow attribute their happiness to the fact that they both exercise common sense with out much filigree work connected to it. Mr. Morrow has no secrets from me, Mrs. Morrow said. And a good deal of our contentment is due to my never having been sick, Mr. Morrow added. The couple came here from Jefferson City, MO, where Mr. Morrow had been a mono type operator as he had been in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Southern Florida and other places, and he is now at Steeg Printing and Publishing Company here. Mr. Morrow, who received years ago a doctor of philosophy degree from the College Of Higher Science, Chicago, an institution no longer in existence, he is regarded a leader among those adhering to the theory that the universe is a hollow sphere surrounded by the earth, with the son and stars inside. He has written abundantly on the subject and Thursday displayed intricate well executed charts and diagrams related to the theory. Twenty seven years ago Mr. Morrow lost his hearing and Mrs. Morrow has acted as interpreter for him since that time. He reads her lips. I suppose deafness has its compensations, Mr. Morrow said Thursday. I believe that being deaf has sharpened my intellectual faculties. Mr. Morrow is 72 years old and Mrs. Morrow is 69. They celebrated their anniversary quietly with their three grandchildren who live with them and many friends and neighbors. Congratulations were received from their son Harry Morrow, who lives in Ft. Myers, Fla.
