New Orleans, April 9th, 1876. Edmund Dennis, the only child of Mary Dennis, .died March 31st, 1876, at 10 o'- clock A. M. Age 7. years 6 months and 15 days. . I christened him on the 30th, one day before his death. In the morning he called the President of his Society and told him he was going to die, he said, he knew it. Ho called his mother, requesting her to take him in her arms; his mother told, him to ask Jesus to save him, he said he loved Jesus. Alexander Joseph, born in Florida in 1835, after long suffering, died in New Orleans July 25, 1884, leaving a bereaved widow and seven children. He died in the triumph of faith. Southwestern Christian Advocate, (New Orleans, LA) Thursday, September 25, 1884 (Jr)
Yesterday at 2:20 o'clock in the afternoon Peter B. Middlemiss. who for forty years has occupied a position In the first rank of the business men of New Orleans, died at his residence No. 481 Carondelet street. Probably no single individual in New Orleans has erected so many famous edifices as he. Temple Sinai and nearly all the synagogues and a number of charches were built under his Immediate supervision. Mr. Middlemiss was born in 1820, in Montreal, Canada, but at the age of 21 he came to this city, where he has since resided. One. of the first buildings on whloh he worked was the St. Charles Hotel. For two terms he was president, of the Lumbermen's Exchange, In whose welfare he took an active and prominent part. Mr. Middlemiss leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.
