Floyd, La., Feb. 10. – John Oldham, aged 24 years, died at the home of his brother, R. W. Oldham, eight miles west of Floyd, Thursday.submitted by Marla Zwakman

Oak Grove, La., Aug. 13. – Christian James, who moved to West Carroll eleven years ago from Winn parish, died at his home north of Oak Grove Thursday morning and was buried with Masonic honors in Mann Cemetery at Forest, Friday. James left an estate valued at $40,000, which will be divided among seven heirs.submitted by Marla Zwakman

Oak Grove, La., Feb. 20. – H. T. Koerner, 65, a leading citizen of this place, died at St. Vincent Sanitarium, Little Rock, Sunday. Mr. Koerner moved here thirteen years ago from Peppertown, Ind., and has done much to build up Oak Grove. He was a stockholder in the Bank of Oak Grove, was president of the Oak Grove Telephone Company, and owned considerable real estate in the parish. The body was shipped here for burial. Miss Celia Harris, a young lady of sixteen, daughter of Mr. Wm. Harris, of Oak Grove, near Crishold, died last week from lockjaw. It was caused by a slight scratch on the hand, from the hoof of a pig, which she was driving from the yard.submitted by Marla Zwakman

Pioneer, La., Feb. 22. – G. W. Jones, a Confederate veteran and father of Representative George W. Jones, Jr., was one of those who died of influenza during the epidemic in West Carroll parish. He was a native of Georgia, moving to Louisiana in 1900.
