Sudden Death:

Tuesday evening Mr. Joseph Currier died suddenly at his residence in Portland from heart disease, of which he had had occasional attacks for years.  Mr. Currier was as well as usual early in the evening, and sat talkatively with his family.  He rose to place something on the bureau when he fell back and died almost instantly.  Mr. Currier was nearly 84 years old, and for many years has been a well known bell hanger in Portland.  He was a member of the Aged Brotherhood and of the Charitable Mechanic Association having joined the later society in 1853.
