Pendelton, Edward Waldo

PENDLETON, Edward Waldo, lawyer; born, Camden, Me., May 22, 1849; son of George and Susan (Johnson) Pendleton; educated at Gorham (Me.) Academy; Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Me.; University of Michigan, 1870-72, degrees of A.B. and A.M., Law Department, same university, 1874; married at Detroit, Sept. 11, 1901, Miss Catharina m., daughter of Thomas Berry. Was superintendent of public schools Owosso, Mich., 1872-73, and later instructor in classics in Detroit High School; studied law in office of Hon. C.I. Walker, Detroit, and was admitted to the bar, 1876. President Detroit Board of Water Commissioners; trustee Detroit Art Museum. Republican. Member Alpha Delta Phi (college fraternity), Society of Colonial Wars. Clubs: University, Detroit Boat, Country (Detroit). Recreations: Literature, history and foreign travel. Office; 1106 Penobscot Bldg., Detroit. Residence: 1100 Jefferson Av., Detroit; summer residence: Harbor Point, Mich.

G. K. Perry



G. K. Perry died on Friday at his home at 646 N. College in Bloomington. Born in Rockland, Maine on Dec. 26, 1831, the eldest of four children. Major Henry F. Perry is a brother. Capt. Perry's father perished off the Florida coast in a shipwreck and his mother died in Rockland, Maine in 1882. Capt. Perry married Julia D. Healy who died in Oct. 1877. They had two daughters: Mable, wife of the Hon. Eph. Inman of Washington, Indiana, & Grace, wife of A. M. Bain of Martinsville, Indiana. Capt. Perry's present wife was Henrietta C. Hasslock of Nashville, Tenn. They had four sons: Gilbert K., Herman H., Frederick E, and Job Perry. -
