QUNIBY, William Emory, editor; born, Brewer, Me., Dec. 14, 1835; removed to Detroit with family when 15 years of age; A.B., University of Michigan, 1858, A.M., 1861 (LL.D., 1896); married at Detroit, Apr. 4, 1860, Adeline Fraser (deceased, 1905). Became connected with Detroit Free Press, 1861; editor and chief owner, Free Press, 1873-1907; U.S. minister to Netherlands, 1893-97 (appointed by President Cleveland). Office: 910 Union trust Bldg.
