Effie L. Stone Exchanges Vows
Alfred, Aug. 2. — The marriage of Miss Effie Leora Stone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph F. Stone, Stebbins Road, to George Perley Kendall. Stoneham, Mass., took place In the Alfred Congregational Church Sunday afternoon. The church was decorated with white gladioli, gyposophila and greenery. The Rev. Charles Leon Stevens officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride wore white satin without train and a lace veil. She carried a bouquet of tiny white gladiolas. She was given in marriage by her father and was attended by her sister. Miss Marion S. Stone. The groom was attended by the bride's brother, David H. Stone. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, which was decorated with white gladioli and white petunias. Miss Henrietta Chambers, New Brunswick. N. J.. assisted by the Misses Dorothy and Frances Sayward served the punch and Mrs.Willard B. Stone the bride's cake. The Rev. Mr. Stevens was In charge of the guest book. The guests Included. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hanson and son. Peter. Portland: Mrs. Gladys Wilson and daughter, Carol. Brunswick; Mrs. Louise Tubbs. Windham; Henry Little, Plymouth, N. H.; Mrs. Harriet Marple. Pemberton. N. J.: Miss Viola Hawthorne. Stoneham, Mass.: Mrs. Anne Kendall, Exeter, N. H.; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berry. Newmarket N. H.: and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kendall Newfield N.H. The bride has been teaching in the public schools of Stoneham for 12 years and the groom Is an electrical engineer in the employ of the Standard Oil Company, Everett, Mass Mr. and Mrs. Kendall art spending three weeks In the White Mountains and will live at 2S Everett Street, Stoneham. Mass., after the first of September.
