Murder
The body of an elderly man, well dressed, was found on Friday last, near Deer Creek, three miles from Belle-Air,
Hartford county. It was evident that he had been murdered several days before; having marks of great violence
on his head and neck, and a ball had passed through his body. The deceased had no papers about him which discovered
his name or residence; but one paper shows that he purchased something in Lancaster; it was so much torn and defaced
as to be scarcely legible in any part. His shirt was marked with (W.W.). He had on a brown coat, good cloth, breeches
nearly same color, toitinette jacket and boots and spurs. The friends of the deceased may be satisfied of his
decent interment, &c by applying to John Johnson, or William Heats, in said county.
